[Warning! Early game spoilers]
Your mission is to protect mankind. It is now that you can give an Earthly welcome to those aliens!
Introduction
Earth is under attack. You may have seen the abductions of aliens taking place all over the globe. Perhaps there is a sudden rise in popularity among pro-alien groups. You might find alien life forms in remote areas of countries you control. There may be a new UFO crash location.
We can't just sit back and wait. We must strike back. It is time for us to give the aliens a warm welcome on Earth with explosives and gunfire.
But how do you do it?
Prerequisites
You must first find the alien to kill it. To actually see an alien, you will need to complete several research projects. Alien movements is the research that allows you directly to see aliens. This should be done after you have completed your research on alien abductions.
You will need a councilor who can investigate other councilors in order to find the alien. You will also need a councilor who can launch the "Assassination" mission.
Pay attention to these missions
A second councilor with the "Surveil Location" mission can be very helpful in locating the alien's hiding place. There is a possibility that the alien may be abducting people in the vicinity of the councilor who is on an active surveillance mission.
Finally, ensure you have enough ops. You can do this by trading with other factions or buying orgs that provide ops. For a month or so, you will need to be able to spend 64 ops per mission phase.
Identify your target
There are several ways to quickly find aliens.
1. Surveillance. Send a "Surveil Location”-equipped councilor to UFO crash sites, countries experiencing a sudden rise in servant popularity, or abduction sites. Be on the lookout for suspicious contacts, especially if they are not easily identified.
It may be worth more to observe the movement around the crash site than to invest in the crash site.
2. Luck. Sometimes, the alien will just reveal itself. Most likely, after a major failure.
3. Suspicious councilor movements. It is possible that an alien target could be a councilor who moves only one space each turn.
4. Xenoforming activity. Aliens may try to spread xenofauna. It is possible that an alien is within easy reach if you find a xenofauna location. To find the target, you can begin to survey the area.
Once you have identified an unknown contact of your interest, send your investigator (ie the councilor with the highest investigation stat)) to investigate the target. You will be notified when it is concluded if it is an alien.
Execution
Once you have identified the alien, it's time to give it a warm reception with heavy machine guns or sniper rifles.
Choose a high-espionage councilor. Tell them to assassinate the alien during the mission assignment phase.
The odds are not in your favor.
To increase the number of ops you spend, use the slider to the right. 64 operations are a must for the early game.
These are some tips to help you increase your chances of success.
1. If the alien is within your territory, you can target it. You will receive a bonus if you are in control of the security forces within a country.
2. Stack all Espionage-related orgs onto your executioner. Buff them to the maximum.
3. Before attacking, investigate the alien a few times. For investigating the target a few times, you get an (bonus intel on target) You can only get a maximum bonus of +5.
4. You can save your efforts. You may need to try more than one time. For the moment, don't use ops for other missions.
5. Use a councilor who is capable of hostile takeover to target the alien's organizations. You can take over orgs that offer bonuses to the alien's safety. This will help you reduce its defenses.
After your first kill
Well done Commander. Bravo Commander for your first kill.
This will allow you to dissect the alien's entire body, fulfilling faction objectives.
Even more important, the alien is dead before it can complete its mission. Assassinations can be surprisingly effective in stopping people being controlled by the xenos. It is actually a good idea to kill sniping aliens.
Two things to remember when you kill aliens
1. Alien hate. The more aliens that you snipe on, the more angry they become as a group. They might attack your space stations directly or bomb you from orbit. To protect yourself against these attacks, keep investing in military technology!
2. It is harder to kill alien councilors in the future if you kill more aliens. The number of aliens you have killed increases the difficulty of killing alien councilors. To ensure you can keep up with the pace, keep boosting your councilors' orgs and XP.
You have now successfully defeated one of the xenos that are invading our planet. This is a tactical victory. It is a victory nonetheless.
