Tips on How to Get the Infernal Robe in Baldur’s Gate 3

Hey gamers, let’s talk about snagging that awesome Tips on How to Get the Infernal Robe in Baldur’s Gate 3. You know, the one you get when Wyll completes his mission to take down Karlach. But, here’s the twist: lots of players actually like Karlach and don’t want to see her go. If you’re cool with saying goodbye to her for some sweet loot, here’s the lowdown on grabbing that Infernal Robe.

Karlach’s Sticky Situation

Alright, so in the world of Faerûn, making deals with devils is pretty much always a bad move. Mizora, while not a devil herself, is pretty slick in getting Wyll to go after Karlach. Karlach’s in a unique spot because, well, she’s missing a heart – thanks to her Infernal Engine.

Team Up with Wyll and Track Down Karlach

First things first: get Wyll on your team. He’ll fill you in on Karlach and his mission. Find Karlach (check out the image below for her location) and jump into battle. Don’t bother chatting her up – just go for it. This showdown happens early in the game, so taking her down should be a breeze. Keep up the pressure, and she might not even get a chance to hit back. But even if she does, your crew (and your fiery teddy bear sidekick) can totally handle it.

Check-In with Wyll

After you’ve dealt with Karlach, catch up with Wyll (if he’s not already with you) and let him know what went down. This will update his quest in your Journal. Make sure he’s in your party for the cutscene where Mizora hands over the Infernal Robe. Just remember, choosing this path means no more Karlach as a companion. Personally, I usually skip this quest because Karlach’s skills outweigh the benefits of the Infernal Robe, which just gives you Fire Resistance and a one-time use of Fire Shield (Warm).

No More Backdoors for Karlach’s Comeback

Before, there was a sneaky way to bring Karlach back after Wyll got the robe. She’d be dead, but the game still counted it as mission accomplished. But, guess what? Patch 5 closed that loophole. Now, if you try to resurrect Karlach, Wyll won’t get the robe at all, or he’ll get in trouble if he’s already snagged it.
