Welcome to Persona 3 Portable – Tips and Strategies Boss Fight Guide

This guide will show you the best strategies to fight secret bosses. This guide includes Elizabeth/Theo and the Reaper, but it does not currently include Margaret’s fight. I will get to that later though.

Elizabeth / Theodore

You can only fight Elizabeth/Theo in New Game+; once in New Game+, you must accept Request 55 – “Defeat your ultimate opponent”.

This fight will be your only one, so you won’t have any other team members. It is a complex and long fight that requires a high level of skill.

These are some essential things to remember before you enter the fight

 

• You cannot have Omnipotent Orb Equipped. This will instantly cause Elizabeth/Theo death
• You will be instantly killed if you block Elizabeth/Theo’s use of an element.
• Elizabeth/Theo have 20,000HP. If their health drops below 10,000 HP, they will fully heal themselves once
• If their HP falls below 5,000, they will use 9,999 Megidolaon each turn
• You will instantly be killed if you use the Armageddon Fusion Spell at the beginning of the fight

 

Requirements

 

• Opheus Telos, Thunder Reign, Sharp Student and Mind Charge. (We will return to this later).
• Armageddon Fusion Spell
• 10x Infinity Spells
• A calculator to keep track of the damage you have done (yes, I am serious).
• Recommended Equipment: Lucifer’s Blade (Male/Female MC), Vel Vel Muruga(Female MC), Armour of Light (Reduces damage taken by 50% ) (We’ll also return to this later).
• (Optional) A persona with Auto Maraku, Auto Mataru and Auto-Masuku

 

How to Get Orpheus Telos

To get Orpheus Telos, you must first max out all Social Links. Once you have done that, you can visit the Velvet Room to get the Colorless Mask. Next, you will need fusion :

• Nidhogger(Aeon)
• Odin(Emperor)
• Scathach(Priestess)

It is important to get Thunder Reign from Odin in order to transfer to Orpheus Telos. To do this, you will need all three Personas to a fusion. You will then see Orpheus Telos. If Thunder Reign is not shown in the Skill List, go back out and deselect all three Personas. Then reselect them, then enter the fusion to reset your Skill list. Continue doing this until Thunder Reign appears in the Skill List. Once you see Thunder Reign, you can accept the Fusion.

The next step is the rest of the skills. We will be acquiring these from skill cards, but don’t worry, i will also explain how to get them.

• Sharp Student: Sharp Student decreases the chance of Elizabeth/Theo receiving a critical hit.

  You can earn the skill card by leveling Zouchouten up to Level 19

• Mind Charge: Mind Charge increases magic attacks and makes Thunder Reign do double damage

  You can earn the skill card by leveling Atropos up to Level 59

• Salvation Salvation is used for complete healing and to remove any poisoning that may have been inflicted upon you by Nebiros

  You can earn the skill card by leveling Vishnu up to Level 87

• High Counter High Counter has a 50% chance of countering any physical attacks

  Level Siegfried up to level 67 to get the skill card

• Elec Amp – Elec Amp will increase electric attacks

  This card is obtained by leveling Odin up to Level 66. You may already have it or have transferred from Odin Telos to Orpheus Telos.

  • • • Elec Boost, also used to strengthen electric attacks.
        You can earn the skill card by leveling Take -Mikazuchi up to Level 31

You now have all the tools to use them on Orpheus Telos, but you must not replace Thunder Reign.

You can also get Stat cards to increase Orpheus Telos stats. It’s not necessary but it helps.

Kartikeya with Auto-Maraku and Auto Mataru (Optional).

Although this persona is not mandatory, it makes the fight much easier. It doesn’t matter who you are fighting so let’s use Kartikeya. The only thing that matters is your skills and how you get them.

• Auto-Maraku (Marakukaja), raises defense costs for the parties.

  This skill card can be obtained by leveling Raphaek up to Level 68

• Auto-Mataru(Matarukaja): This increases the parties’ magic attack power and physical strength

  This skill card can be obtained by leveling Melchizedek up to Level 68

• Auto-Masuku(Masukukaja) This raises the accuracy and evasion of the parties

  This skill card can be obtained by leveling Horus up to Level 68.

Once you have applied all the skills to your chosen persona, make sure you select that persona before starting the battle. You can then change to Orpheus Telos the first turn.

Recommended Equipment

This equipment is optional because it does more damage and takes less damage, but it’s not essential. Here’s how you can get everything.

• Lucifer’s Blade (Male MC).

  Fusion Lucifer can achieve this with the Nihil Weapon. You can drop Nihil Weapons from Golden Shadows. At the Shinshoudo Antiques Shop in Paulownia Mall, you can fuse Lucifer’s Blade

• Vel Vel Muruga (Female MC)

  This can be achieved by fusion of Kartikeya and a Nihil Weapon in the same way as Lucifer’s Blade.

• Shoes of Light Armour and Shoes of Light

  These can be obtained by fusing Orpheus or Thanatos into Messiah. Otherwise, Messiah will not be yours. One item will be given to you per fusion. It’s not random what you get, so make sure to do many fusions.

• Divine Pillar

  Fusing Alilat can give you the Divine Pillar. Once you have reached the Empress Social Link, you can fuse Alilat.

 

Armageddon Fusion Spell

The Shinshoudo Antiques Shop, Paulownia Mall, can provide the Armageddon Fusion Spell. The shop is open from 6/9 to 8/9. The Armageddon Spell can be very expensive. It costs x99 Malachite, x10 Ruby for one Armageddon Spell. These items can be found in Tartarus. The Ruby Item is rare. The Armageddon Fusion Spell inflicts 9999 damage on all enemies. You can also get it from Paradigm Door’s Hanged Man Door. Available from 1/1. The Hanged Man must spawn a Maya during the fight to cause an explosion. You will receive an Armageddon Fusion Spell if you finish the fight.

10x Infinity Spells

The infinity spells can block the 9,999 Megidolaon which will be used every 8 turn. These can be obtained by defeating the Fortune & Strength Door located inside the Paradigm Door. It unlocks on 1/1

You see, i’m not kidding.

It is important to keep track of the damage you cause as Elizabeth/Theo can only heal to 10% of their original HP.

The Fight

Once you are ready, you will need to be alone. Next, enter Heaven’s Door in Tartarus and reach 10th floor.

The attack pattern does not change regardless of difficulty. Here’s the attack loop and what you should do each turn:

• Turn 1 Surt – Fire

  This will allow you to switch to Orpheus Telos, and use Mind Charge

• Turn 2 – Jack Frost – Ice

  Thunder Reign

• Turn 3, Thor – Electricity

  Thunder Reign

• Turn 4, Cu Chulainn – Wind

  Use Mind Charge

• Turn 5, Metatron – Light

  Thunder Reign

• Turn 6 – Alice – Dark

  Use Mind Charge

• Turn 7, Nebiros – Status Ailments

  Thunder Reign or Heal if necessary

• Turn 8, Masakado – Megidolaon

  Use Infinity Item

 

Elizabeth / Theodore – Continued

The loop will return to the beginning after turn 8. You can just keep doing these moves. You can change it up if you are hit with a critical or need to heal or get moreSP. However, you must use Infinity on turn 8. Otherwise you will die. Keep track of how much damage your opponent is doing. Once her health reaches 10,500, only defend until they are healed. Use the Armageddon Fusion Spell to get their health down to 10,000 or less. Congratulations!

Margaret

Ok, now you can unlock the fight against Margaret once you have defeated all the Paradigm Doors. These are the 12 Doors that appear in the 1/1. There are many things to do and rules to follow so let’s get started.

Rules

 

• You or any party member should not have the Omnipotent Orb on you. Margaret will instantly kill you.
• You will instantly be killed if you use the Armageddon Fusion Spell before Margaret has a below 10,000 HP.
• You must not have any Persona that can null, repel, or absorb her attacks. Otherwise you will be instantly shot
• You will instantly be killed if you use the Infinity item.
• You will instantly be killed if you do not deal 5,000 damage during a phase.

 

Margaret’s phases

Margaret has 5 phases, each lasting 10 turns, and has a total HP of 30,000 HP. Let’s now talk about her phases.

• Phase 1 – Turn 1 – 10.

  In this phase, she will only use physical attacks

• Phase 2: Turns 11-20

  In this phase, she will use her skills to create negative status effects

• Phase 3 – Turns 21 – 30

  In this phase, she will only use elemental attack

• Phase 4: Turns 31-40

  On round 1, she will use Power and Mind Charge. Then, she will use powerful magic and other skills.

• Phase 5 – Turns 41 – 50

  She will use any tool in this phase.

You will instantly be killed if Margaret is not killed by Turn 50

Requirements

 

• To fight this fight, you and your party members must be at least level 99. It is highly recommended that you train in heaven’s doors to gain more XP.
• Recommended equipment: Lucifer’s blade (Male MCM) or Vel Vel Muruga(Female MCM), Ultimate weapons for your party members Armour of Light Shoes of Light and Divine Pillar
• Recommended parties are : Yukari, Aigis, and Akihiko
• A Helel with Morning Star & Mind Charge
• Armageddon Fusion Spell
• A tonne of Homunculus Items
• Not joking, but a calculator

 

Helel with Morning Star & Mind Charge

To get Helel, you must max out the Star Social Link. Then you can fuse Satan with Vishnu. Helel will already possess Mind Charge and will be able to learn Morning Star at Level 99.

Armageddon Fusion Spell

The Shinshoudo Antiques Shop, Paulownia Mall, can provide the Armageddon Fusion Spell. This shop is open from 6/9 to 8/9. The Armageddon Spell costs x99 Malachite, x10 Ruby for one Armageddon Spell. These items can be found in Tartarus. The Ruby Item is rare. The Armageddon Fusion Spell inflicts 9999 damage on all enemies. You can also get it from Paradigm Door’s Hanged Man Door. Available from 1/1. The Hanged Man must spawn a Maya during the fight to cause an explosion. You will receive an Armageddon Fusion Spell if you finish the fight.

Calculator

I am not lying. You will need the calculator to keep track how much damage you do to Margaret, so you can use the Armageddon Spell at just the right moment.

The Fight

You can start the battle by ensuring you have Helel Equip and some HP and SP items.

Set Akihiko as Direct Commands, Aigis as Full Assault, and Yukari at Full Assault at the beginning of the fight. This will make Akihiko the healer and the damage dealers. Keep track of Margaret’s health and use the Armageddon Spell to get her to 10,000HP.

Use Mind Charge and Morning Star in Phase 1. When necessary, heal.

Phase 2 is the exact same

Phase 3 is the exact same

Phase 4 is the exact same, but you should be able to get a little closer to Margaret’s 10,000HP mark by now.

Phase 5 is the exact same, but you should be done. Use the Armageddon Spell to win when Margaret is at 10,000 HP.

Congratulations!

Reaper

You can have the Reaper spawn on any floor. It is possible to wait up to 10 minutes, but it is possible. After he has spawned on the floor, you will receive a warning and he will move to you. I would recommend a Level 65 or higher for this fight.

There are two ways you can fight this battle.

Armageddon Fusion Spell

The Shinshoudo Antiques Shop, Paulownia Mall, can provide the Armageddon Fusion Spell. This shop is open from 6/9 to 8/9. The Armageddon Spell can be very expensive. It costs x99 Malachite, x10 Ruby for one Armageddon Spell. These items can be found in Tartarus. The Ruby Item is very rare. The Armageddon Fusion Spell inflicts 9999 damage on all enemies. You can also get it from Paradigm Door’s Hanged Man Door. Available from 1/1. The Hanged Man must spawn a Maya during the fight to cause an explosion. You will receive an Armageddon Fusion Spell if you finish the fight.

This route is the best. You can use the Armageddon Fusion Spell immediately after you enter the fight to win.

Or

Fight Normally

You can also fight him normally if you don’t have the Armageddon Fusion Spell, or are too lazy to do so. It is essential to be at least Level 65 to avoid dying quickly.

You will need a persona such as Odin with Thunder Reign or Ragnarok to fight in this fight. If Odin is your choice, ensure you have the elec amp or elec boost skills.

You can use one of your party members to lower his defense and then attack him until his death. If his defense debuff runs dry, reduce his defence again.

If the reaper is knocked down, feel free to attack but not more than once. Otherwise, you will instantly die.
