This guide will help you find any information you need for all female protagonist social links, such as rank-up requirements, gift options, and best dialogue choices. This will assist you in planning for maxing out Social Links or simply ensuring that you did not miss a special event cutscene for your favorite character.

Understanding the Social Link System

Social linkages, a crucial component in the persona series, represent the ties you develop with people along your adventure. There are a total of 22 social relationships in Persona 3 Portable, some of which rank up through story development, but the majority of which follow a point system.

In P3P, and so far only exclusive to this game, the Charm social stat provides a social point multiplier of up to 1.51x that stacks with having a matching persona as the social link you gain points for. So it’s important to max this early during your first playthrough.

Some changes have also been made to the social links since Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES, namely removing some of the negative social link aspects such as the reversal mechanic which triggers when you don’t hang out with that particular person frequently enough before you’ve maxed out the social link. Social link reversals still exist, but they are much more manageable now, as they can only occur when you pick the wrong dialogue choices during rank up. You also no longer lose social link points for picking an answer they dislike, and refusing date invitations won’t have any adverse effects.

  • Spend time with them (or rank up interaction)
  • Choose a dialogue response that makes them happy
  • Drawing a fortune at the shrine
  • Meeting them during your evening walk
