Team Fortress 2 – Best Tips How to Get Cheapest Premium in TF2

Step 1

 
While on the main menu, click on the ‘Shop’ button near the bottom left of your screen:

When in the Shop, click on the ‘Items’ tab in the top left of your screen, and a list of items will appear that look like this:

Search for “mann”, and find THIS exact key:

This is the most common Mann Co. crate key in TF2. 
 
 

Step 4

 
Add the key to your cart, and then view your cart by clicking the button in the lower left of ur screen, like so:

Click the ‘Checkout’ button and purchase the key:

Intermission

 
Alright, now your account is premium and you have a key. But that was pretty expensive just for 1 key, right? Why would you buy that when you could’ve just bought a weapon for cheaper? Well that’s where the next step comes into play… 
 
 

Step 6

 
Wait a few days until your key becomes tradable. 
 
 

Step 7

 
Go https://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/440/Mann%20Co.%20Supply%20Crate%20Key. 
 
 

Step 8

 
Look at this part of the page:

Look and see what THIS circled number is: 
(Your number may be different than the one in my pic, but that doesn’t matter.)

Now click on the green ‘Sell’ button:

And list your key for the price of whatever number you saw in the previous step. 
(So, for me my number was $2.31, so I would list it to be sold at $2.31) 
 
 

All Done!

 
THAT’S IT! Now your key will be listed at the lowest buying price, meaning someone will buy it within (probably) a few seconds. And you will receive the money in your Steam wallet.

For reference, when I bought my key during this walkthrough, I bought it from the Mann Co. Shop for $2.49, and then I sold it on the market for $2.31, meaning I only lost .18 cents from the upgrade. I got all my money back except for the .18 cents.

This specific key is the most common item used for trading, buying, and selling in TF2. It’s the MOST bought & sold item on the TF2 Steam Market. So buying this key from the Mann Co. Shop and selling it on the market is the most cost-efficient way to upgrade your account to premium. If you would’ve bought a weapon from the shop for cheaper, you would’ve lost a few dollars in the long run because you would not be able to sell it for ur money back. 
 
 

What to buy with the money you got back

 
Now you can buy a ton of cosmetics on the Steam marketplace with the money you got back in your wallet. https://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=&category_440_Collection%5B%5D=any&category_440_Type%5B%5D=tag_misc&appid=440#p1_price_asc a list of TF2 cosmetics sorted by the lowest priced. They start at .11 cents, .12 cents, .14 cents, and so on… Meaning you have over 2 dollars to buy a bunch of these cheap cosmetics, or only 1-2 cosmetics on the more expensive side, if you want.
