Hi, welcome to this post, This Pharaoh: A New Era – Industry and Workshops Guide was written to be helpful to you, and we genuinely hope that you do.
Workshops and industries
Food is fine and good, but after people’s needs are met, they start to crave the finer things in life like pottery for toiletries, beer to alter memories, and blankets made of linen. If you want aristocrats reside in your city, you will also have to provide luxury items such as wine, ivory, jewelry, or revenge. City industry allows you to transform raw ingredients into valuable export products that you will require to keep your city financially viable.
The Production tab contains the majority of your industrial buildings. Raw materials let you mine or quarry raw ingredients that can be stored in Storage Yards or sent to workshops to turn them into finished products. While most workshops require the use of labor and one raw ingredient Certain items require more than one. There is no hard and fast rule on the ratio of raw ingredient-based structures to final product workshops: a single Reed Gatherer is able to supply five Papyrus Makers with enough reeds for instance, whereas you’ll need about three clay Pits for each four Potters.
Bazaars are a great place to purchase Pottery, Beer, Linen (the Basic Goods category) and all High-end Goods. Some raw ingredients and finished products are also used in various buildings for service like Wood being used in Bowyers, Shipyards, and Chariot Makers, and Papyrus being used at Scribal Schools and Libraries. In general, finished products are more profitable than raw materials that are used for export.
Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions Workshops and Industry
Q. Where can I place construction materials that are made of raw materials?
A. Woodcutter camps or reed gatheringers could be placed anywhere, but workers will have to travel to the nearest tree or marsh.
Clay pits should be located within just a few tiles of the floodplain or the water soil.
Gems and limestone granite and sandstone quarries should be situated near an exposed rocky surface.
Copper mines and gold mines can only be situated adjacent to an ore vein (marked by speckles of gold in the rock).
For flax and barley farms, see the Food section.
Q. What are the priority delivery dates for raw material outputs?
A. A. If it’s not able to find a route to a workshop then it will attempt to send the cart pusher to the nearest storage facility that has space. If that fails the cart pusher is idle outside of the camp.
Q. Q. How much raw material can a workshop be allowed to store?
A. A. If a workshop has 200 units of raw material, like a Potter with 200 units of clay, it won’t “ask” for more from Clay Pits or Storage Yards.
Similar to raw material camps workshops will attempt to send their outputs to the closest storage facility that is a valid one. For chariots and weapons the recruiter is prioritized over Storage Yards.
A. A. The city palace is the only location where gold mines are able to drop off their resources. They are immediately converted into debens, at 100 debens for each load.
