easy way using pulseaudio and a config file
We will use the program “pavucontrol” for standard sound and I/O configuration.
if ur on linux u know how to install it using your package manager.
if u do +voicerecord in tf2 terminal and check pavucontrol “recording” tab you will see hl2_linux audio stream appear in there. you should change the microphone to something named “monitor of (somehing)”
but most likely you can’t do that since opengl locks microhpone change on source games. Note that even if you can do it you should add this into your llinux terminal for compatibility with all source games like csgo or gmod:
this is only a per-user configuration. if u want to do it system wide just change the stdout to /etc/openal/alsoft.conf as specified by thewiki.archlinux.org – https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio#OpenAL
this is not needed in most cases
now restart pulseaudio with
and restart steam as well.
now we are all set.
whenever you want to micspam just do +voicerecord in game and change the microphone in recoding to monitor and play anything u want from either youtube or a file on ur pc.
that is all.
