Team Fortress 2 – The Trading Guide For Beginners

The Basics

As for some of you who dont know, the main economy of this game is, keys and metal 
But you might ask yourself, “whats a key?” or “how do i even get metal”, ill explain those one by one, 
 
Starting off with Keys.

Keys, are the main source of economy, to get a good start to trading, you’ll kinda need to buy 1, or 2, but keys in itself, are used to open crates,which are, just unboxing crates, like in every other game that features them, you can also unbox strange weapons, hats in which i will get onto later moving on, you can sell the keys for, metal, which is usually around 57, 57.11 metal, i would recommend selling keys in backpack.tf, which is a great site. 
 
Refined,Scrap,Reclaimed.

These are usually called “Metal”, and, you’ve gotta do a certain amount of work to get a refined, but starting off nonetheless let us get to the point, scrap metal usually people call them “scrap” only, scrap is the most common out of the metals, to get a scrap, you’ve got to, get 2 of the same weapons, go onto crafting on the items page, then, you would go onto this page: 
,then, you need to go onto “smelt class weapons”, which is usually where it puts you at default, put the 2 same weapons on the boxes, then click craft, now you’ve got yourself a scrap, but now, to get a reclaimed, you click “combine scrap metal”, once you got 3 scrap, you can make a reclaimed metal, and for the weapons, it can be any weapon, you just need 2 of them, but now, moving onto Refined Metal, Refined, usually called “Ref” is the second main economy of this game, you need 3 reclaimed, to make one refined, and this is the end of The Basics, we shall move on into 
 
 
 

The Beginning

In here, we will talk about how trading works, how the economy works, and what are the best sites to trade on. 
 
Trading

As i have stated before, keys and refined are the main economy, but you might ask, “whats the worth of metals in trading?” 
The 3 metals have different valor each, refined being the highest, going to 1 ref, which is his base value, reclaimed is 0.33 ref, and scrap being the lowest is 0.11, as a example, if you were to give, 1 ref, 1 reclaimed, and 1 scrap, you would have, 1,44 as your value, but now, we will be moving onto 
 
Trading Sites

This will be a very short part, but, the best sites are, scrap.tf,backpack.tf, http://Mannco.trade, but always try to use backpack.tf and scrap.tf.

The Different Types Of Qualities (Featuring Hats!)

Hats are, just cosmetics, but there are different types of qualities about them, which i will get onto later, there are also, miscs!, but they’re just like hats, that just fit into different slots.
