This guide will introduce you to a brand new subclass, never devised until now… THE FROG SCOUT.
 
 

Tl;dr

Play as Soldier, and only use the Rocket Jumper + Shotgun. It’s basically the Fat Scout subclass but with insane mobility.

Origin of the name

Everybody knows about the “Fat Scout” subclass, which is a Heavy who only uses their Shotgun. Well take the Fat Scout, make him about 100 pounds lighter… and give him the ability to LEAP around like a frog. Now you have the FROG SCOUT.
 
 
 

The loadout

To become this subclass, you need to #1, play as Soldier.
 
#2, equip the “Rocket Jumper”, “Shotgun”, and “Market Gardener”.

Now this might just seem like the average Trolldier loadout, right? Well yes, right. But this time we’re not going to be using the Market Gardener as our main weapon of choice… but instead, the Shotgun!
 
 
 

How to play as a Frog Scout

Use the Rocket Jumper to leap around. You can leap on to roofs, ledges, rocks, anything. Your goal is to leap around and land on unsuspecting enemies. When you land on/near someone, pull your Shotgun out and start firing at them.

(You can use the Market Gardener if you’d like to, but at that point you’re just a regular Trolldier.)

Leaping around the whole map with a Shotgun is as fun as it sounds. It’s like playing as Fat Scout but with the insane mobility of being able to jump anywhere & everywhere very quickly.

So in terms of jumping mobility, it’s much better than Scout. He’s obviously slower since it’s Soldier… but he’s still faster and much more mobile than a ‘Fat Scout’ Heavy.
