This guide will help you find the locations of all aliens in the game, as well as recommend kill strategies and catching strategies.

Safe Shallows

Bladderfish, Peeper, Garryfish, Boomerang, Holefish These fish are not meant to hurt or move you. They are there to be visual entities, key elements to the story, or to provide sustenance.

Catching: Keep swimming for any of these fish. You should eventually be able grab it when you are within range.
 
 
Killing: Just a few swipes of the knife should do it.

Gasopod This entity could potentially kill you. If you get too close to this entity, it releases toxins that explode within a short time.

Crashfish: An explosive fish. These fish can be dangerous and can even catch (, including me), off guard. They hide in small sulfur plants within coves and will charge if they see a player.

Killing – It is futile to kill a crashfish. They will explode after chasing you for a few seconds in an attempt to harm you. Instead, you should swim as fast as possible.

Grassy Plateaus

Floater is a small grabbable alien that can't hurt anyone. It makes the object it is attached to more bouyant.

Reefback Leviathan : A huge creature that makes whale-like sounds as it passes by. It is one of few passive leviathans available in the game.

Mesmer is a small, aggressive creature. It can hypnotize you.

Warper is an artificial being created by precursors. It can teleport, warp and move around in places and even teleport you.

Bleeder : Small aliens that latch onto your arms.
 
 
Killing : Keep hitting it with the knife.

Reaper Leviathan – One of the most terrifying and eerie creatures in the game.
 
 
Killing: I recommend a prawn costume with a grapple arm, a torpedo arm, or a handarm. Keep shooting/punching the reaper by latching onto it. If it's squirming, it's just hurt animation.

Juvenile Ghost Leviathan is one of the most aggressive leviathans in this game. They will attack everything they see.
 
 
Killing : Use torpedoes and prawn arms.

Sea Treader Leviathan Large neutralist leviathans who walk on the ground but cannot jump or swim.
 
 
Killing – It is quite pointless to kill sea treaders as their feces They can be a source of useful information. They are not aggressive and will not attack you unless they get too close to you or attack you.

Lost River

Spinefish – Skeleton versions for hoopfish.
 
 
Catching : Keep swimming after one, and you should be able eventually to catch it.

Ghost Ray is a translucent, bioluminescent version the crimson-ray. It is passive.
 
 
Killing – Ghost rays are not dangerous and will not attack you.

Amoeboid is a decorative blue organism that can be found on floors and walls.

River Prowler is a skeletal version the ampeel. It is not likely to shock you, but it can be lethal.

Lava Lakes and Inactive Lava Zone

Magmarang and Red Eyeye : Volcanic variations of the boomerang or eyeye. They behave exactly like their normal counterparts.

Crimson Ray Volcanic version the ghost ray. It is passive.
 
 
Killing – Crimson rays are not dangerous and will not attack you.

Lava Larva – Highly annoying creatures that latch onto your cyclops. This can cause damage to the cyclops.
 
 
Killing – You can't kill them naturally, but you can grab their cyclops.

Lava Lizard – Aquatic lizards can have magma buildup on the backs. They will spit lava at your face.
 
 
Killing : You can use a prawn suit to it.

Sea Dragon Leviathan is one of the most powerful and large creatures in the game. It can throw your vehicles against walls and spit lava, as well as emit terrifying roars. Sometimes they can even get stuck in the terrain. They are limited to 3 in total.
 
 
Killing – It is strongly recommended that you stay away from these beasts. If you really want to kill them, however, you will need to bring a few prawn suits, your seamoth, and your cyclops. You should also bring a reinforced diving suit and a thermoblade. You might even try shooting things at it with your propellant cannon.

Adult Ghost Leviathan is one of the largest creatures in this game. They are extremely lethal and the only leviathans known to be capable of respawning after death.

Habitat Cuddlefish don't have a habitat. Cuddlefish eggs can be found in caves and abandoned structures. (Eg : One of the giant mushrooms trees.)
