A guide to the modes you will be coming across as a S.W.A.T or H.R.T operator in Ready Or Not
Including some tips and tricks
Barricaded Suspects
Our first mode and what is rated as “normal” in difficulty is Barricaded Suspects, this mode is simple
First and foremost you and your team are on a don’t fire unless fired upon ROE (rules of engagement ) this means you can’t just go in guns blazing so you trigger happy players may want to skip this mode or play behind your squad.
General Information
Okay now lets talk this mode for real barricaded suspects is the bread and butter mode most maps have as of January 29th this goes for supporter beta as well.
- Suspects seem more likely to surrender in this mode
- Doors may have traps bring a mirror gun or peek every door if you don’t care for it
Â
Â
- Do not be afraid to take it slow in this mode
- Trapped doors either contain a flash-bang or a frag if you trip one pray its a flash
This is a simple mode there isn’t much need for an in depth explanation
Tips
- If you’re unsure of a trap on a door and playing singleplayer even if you haven’t mirror gunned the door if you bring up the order menu there will be one for “Disarm Trap”
- This is a good mode to test weapons, attachments, non lethal tactics you dont use often due to lower suspect numbers
Tricks
This mode is too simple to need any tricks
Raid
Raid
Our next mode is Raid rated as “Hard” much like you will be if you enjoy police brutality
If you enjoy firefights and blasting suspects this is your mode loose ROE!
General Information
This mode is all about action, action, then some more action
- Do not be afraid to shoot first ask to see hands later (albeit at a lower score)
- This mode is a little faster paced than Barricaded Suspects but can still be taken slow should you desire
- As with BS (Barricaded Suspects) this is a simpler mode no need for any in depth info
Tips
- Don’t hesitate or let your guard down the suspects can and will capitalize on you in this mode
- Ask for compliance once if you dont get it fire as they are thinking of doing the same
- Doors are not trapped in the base edition so breach at your discretion
- IN RARE CASES the doors are trapped in the supporter edition so you may want to be caution and peek doors or bring a mirror gun
Tricks
- If a suspect is behind a door but you need to force him into making the first move, position yourself by the door and give it a kick he will begin firing on the door either fire through the door or wait until he has to reload and go in
- As of now shields are still a fantastic tool in the war on crime I suggest you bring one or two
Active Shooter
Active Shooter
Here we have a mode that is a little more “unique” rated as “Hard” this mode will involve you and your team being deployed to stop a group of gunmen who are intent on killing civilians.
General Information
Lets talk what you’ll be seeing here
- A large amount of civilians
- Once shots go off expect to a mass panic making the situation even harder
- You will not be able to save everyone its important to understand this
- Time is not on your side you and your team will not be able to play slower like the other modes be ready to move fast and listen for gunshots
Tips
- DOORS ARE NOT trapped in this mode to help you move quicker
- Light Armor is suggested or if you’re really ballsy no armor for the movement speed increase
- Do not waste time asking for compliance if you see a civilian clear the shooters then clean up
- No need to ask for compliance from the shooters the guns are already raised fire at will
Tricks
- Battering rams are your friend to move fast
- As stated before light armor or no armor grants a movement bonus if you’re confident in your skills it will help you complete the mission faster
- If you’re really going for a high score go shields and tasers, or non lethal weaponry, this will offset the “civilian killed penalties
Bomb Threat
Bomb Threat
Here’s where it gets interesting rated “Very Hard” you and your team are on bomb defusal duty now.
General Information
This mode sounds simple but its a little more than you might think, you and your team will be coming across suspects, civilians, and bombs.
- You’re on a time crunch until the bombs are defused
- Same ROE as Barricaded suspects applies demand compliance but be ready to fire you don’t have time to goof around
Tips
- Might sound simple but invaluable the bombs have a distinct beep and a red glow due to the light
- Bombs take priority defuse them first then take care of the situation
- Heavy Armor is not recommended unless its a small map as time isnt on your side, Light armor recommended
Tricks
- When playing multiplayer a team of 2 and team of 3 this will really help with the time crunch
Not many tricks for a mode like this just get in get the bombs and clean up
Hostage Rescue
Hostage Rescue
Here we go all your training has led to this rated “insane” this mode will test your strategies and how good you and your friends can work and listen to each other
General Information
- This mode you guessed it is a hostage situation (supporter players we can finally feel cool wearing our H.R.T uniforms)
- A single mistake can lead to the hostages being killed
- You can take this is slow as you need the hostages will not be executed until the criminals feel threatened
Tips
- Suppressors are a must if you’re going lethal
- If a criminal sees you first and yells out or gets the word out to his friends its you’ve got about 5 seconds to find the hostages before they’re killed
- Non lethal may be viable here but be quick about it if the criminals get a shot off its game over for the hostages
- Flash bangs and stingers make noise these are not advised until you find the room with the hostages inside
- CS Gas is a great asset in this mode due to the wide dispersion pattern and its quiet its good for clearing rooms you dont feel safe breaching with minimal noise
- If you demand compliance and the suspect runs he will let the cat out of the bag (tell his friends for you younger people) take the shot a penalty of 150 points isnt much to trade for the lives of innocents
Tricks
- A synchronized breach is the best way to tackle a hostage room
- If you keep failing the hostages are kept in a limited amount of locations its cheesy but you can keep restarting until you’re satisfied
- As mentioned in the tips section CS gas is very effective a C2 breach with CS gas will coat an entire room in gas and make things easier on you
Conclusion
I am by no means an expert in the game or making steam guides
