Walkthrough

If you, like me, had to follow a ghost to his pa*sing point to recover book pages, you could be confused with the bridge that appears on the actual map.

The right bridge is the one that is outside of the forbidden forest, not within the forest itself.

(This also shows some flashing purple lights moving through the forest towards the battle arena statue where poachers are in the wild.)

The first step is to follow the path from Hogwarts toward Hogsmeade. Then cast LUMOS, and walk across the bridge towards the Forbidden Forest entrance.

After you’ve crossed the bridge three floating candles will appear. As you move closer, they will shift away towards the Forbidden Forest. Follow them:

If you stay clear of the encounter with the nearby Dugbog on the river by the left, you will arrive with no issues to the dining area on a small hill and the chest should be there and you can open it to complete the quest:
