Don’t Starve – Dragon Fruit Farm

Preparations

 
A dragon fruit farming operation requires gardens and a bird in a birdcage. A refrigerator is also good for keeping seeds fresh, when you can get one. 
 
To make dragonpie, you will also need a crock pot. 
 
Start by collecting seeds as you go about your day and night. Collect all the seeds you see, up to 40. 
 
Make 9 improved farms. You’ll need: 

• 90 cut grass 
• 54 manure 
• 36 rocks

 
Plant the seeds in the farms. You will need to plant seeds until you happen to grow a dragon fruit. When you get a dragon fruit don’t pick it until you have a bird to feed it to. 
 
While you wait, build a birdcage, you will need: 

• 8 reeds for 2 papyrus 
• 6 gold 
• 2 seeds

 
When you have a birdcage, catch a bird. Make a bird trap. You will need: 

• 3 twigs 
• 4 silk

Your Working Farm

 
When you have your 9 farms, your caged bird and at least one dragon fruit you can move to the next phase. 
 
Feed the dragon fruit to the bird and collect the seeds it gives you. At least one will be dragon fruit seeds. Sometimes it will give you two dragon fruit seeds and that’s how your operation will grow. 
 
Plant the dragon fruit seeds. 
 
Continue this process until you have all nine farms filled with dragon fruit. 
 
From now on, make sure you have nine dragon fruit seeds to keep the farms producing. Any left over dragon fruit will be available for you to eat. 
 
A refrigerator is good for keeping the seeds, fruit, and finished pie fresh for longer. Seeds last a long time anyway, so it’s not a huge deal. The fruit and pie don’t last very long so be careful about harvesting only when you’re ready to eat the pie so you don’t have a lot of waste. 
 
 
 
 

Making Your Pie

 
Dragonpie provides 40 health, 75 hunger, and 10 sanity. 
 
You need a crock pot and filler. 
 
Build a crock pot, you will need: 

• 9 rocks for 3 cut stone 
• 6 charcoal 
• 6 twigs

 
You will also need filler. A very easy filler is twigs. Dig up twigs from around the world and plant some near your base. Collect them regularly and have a stack near the crock pot. 
 
Another safe filler I’ve found is eggs. Feed any cooked meat to the bird for an egg. Limpets work. Crabbits work. Rabbits work. Monster meat works. 
 
No meat or mandrake. 
No more than 2 sweeteners. 
No more than 1 durian. 
No eggplant plus another vegetable. 
No fruit.
