Intro
Want the exotic weapon but don’t have any friends and don’t like LFG? Then this guide is for you!
I recommend you to be at least 1230 Light before attempting to solo this quest. Oh, and carry the Witherhoard into it. IT’S A MUST FOR THE BOSSFIGHT CHEESE!
How to get the Quest in the first place
Jump into the Strike “The Arms Dealer”. Right at the Beginning, a big door opened up. Walk through that door instead of doing the normal “hack the terminal then go to the field with the tanks to blow stuff up” thing.
There are a lot of Skorpion Turrets around. Make sure to kill them all because they’re pretty good at killing Guardians. There’s also one Phalanx Boss.
At the end you should see a marker in one of the boxes (probably have to kill the Boss or walk close to the box idk). Walk into the box and hold E to receive a Distress Signal. Return to Zavala to gain the Quest proper.
The Quest leads you to a new area in the Tangled Shore with a new 3-Guardian Activity. But with this Guide, you’ll only need yourself.
Arrival, First Jumping Puzzle
You’ll land on the cargo hatch of a dead ship. The entrance to the ship? Not the door. Look to your left, jump on platforms until you get into the ship. (Visual tutorial coming soon)
After entering the ship, there will be 2 mechanics that will be explained to you through gameplay.
1. Shoot the weird fungus pod thingy to gain a buff for 15 seconds that lets you go through the painful walls unharmed.
2. Shoot blue fuses to open doors.
The Middle Stuff
The Bossfight (with Cheese!)
Remember how I told you to carry the Witherhoard with you into this fight? That’s because it is super helpful in this Bossfight!
The Boss Mechanics:
– Boss spawns in the room. Tickle him a bit to make him go away. One or two Witherhoard shots should do the trick.
– Big wave of Adds spawn. 3 Corrupted Chieftains with Solar Shields, a few Stalkers and Screebs.
– Last-wave-for-the-phase Adds will spawn. It’s just 2 Stalkers near each computer and 1 in the Hot Room. Kill the Adds, then activate Computer 1 and 2 (where the 2 Stalkers each spawned), then take care of the last Add (while standing OUTSIDE the Hot Room)
– VERY QUICKLY run in, activate the computer. If you did I correctly you should still be alive.
Cheese TIme!
– Get your Witherhoard out, jump down one of the 3 holes at the walls (preferably not the one where the boss is). DO NOT MOVE FROM THE HOLE. Locate boss, slap him with a Witherhoard Grenade, IMMEDIATELY JUMP UP TO THE TOP FLOOR AGAIN. Locate and eliminate any Add that may have spawned. Repeat.
– IMPORTANT: The Bottom Room will occasionally have Corrupted Chieftains with Arc Shields. Their Ether-Binds are VERY dangerous as they pull you in thus making an escape to the Top Floor much harder, and impossible if you panic. Make sure to clear them.
– The Boss will start to overheat the Bottom Room after you take out one segment of his healthbar (“phase”). If that happens, go back to the Top Floor and repeat the Add-clear-then-activate-computers mechanic.
– Phase 1 does not spawn any Adds on the top floor.
– Phase 2 will spawn two waves of 6 Stalkers on the top floor. One after 2/3 of the phase and the other when there’s half of the second phase left.
– When Phase 3 starts, additionally to the normal wave there will be a few Raiders and some Ravagers, too. The number of Screebs is increased massively.
– Phase 3 will spawn 3 waves. First wave is almost the same as the wave you had to fight right after the Boss fled from the Top to the Bottom floor. Second and third Wave is just a few Ravagers.
BE VERY CAREFUL, DO NOT GET COCKY, ADDS CAN EASILY KILL YOU IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL (the boss, too)
After defeating the Boss, find a small vent in the wall on the top floor and just follow the path.
Then press E to pay respects to our fallen brother… (and get the exotic weapon)
