How to Play New Save Phantom Liberty in Cyberpunk 2077

The Phantom Liberty expansion is here, and it’s quite a ride. Imagine yourself wandering the lanes of Dogtown, now held hostage by an angry colonel and his muscle-for-hire team.

I’m going to drop a few minor spoilers here.

Starting Anew

Ready to start Phantom Liberty with a blank slate? You’ve got a couple of options:

1. From the main menu, click ‘New Save’ and go with ‘Fast forward to Phantom Liberty‘.
2. Again, click ‘New Save’ from the main menu, but this time choose ‘Regular Start’. Play until you wrap up the ‘Transmission’ quest.

Edit your Character

You can still tweak how your character looks and their backstory. But if you’re itching for more control over your in-game persona, you might want to redo your character’s skills and attributes. If not, the pre-set build’s got your back. Pick the abilities you like and forget the rest.

Kickstarting with Gear

By choosing the express route, you land with a full bag: weapons, cyber gadgets, goodies, and some protective gear. Talk about a boost when you’re about to tackle Dogtown’s wild side!

Discovering the Relic Skill Set

One more thing to keep in mind: no matter how you start, you’ll come across the Relic skill set early in the game. From my experience, Relic skills aren’t like the others. You don’t need to stash away those precious points just for this skill set. Use ’em as you please.
