How to Create a Strong Community in State of Decay 2
Have you ever thought about building your community in the State of Decay 2 without being stuck in the endless loop of influence farming? Let me walk you through a breezy step-by-step guide that’ll have your community thriving in no time without the usual grind.
 Investment Checklist
Before diving in, let’s make sure you’ve got everything you need:
- Time: Set aside around 20 to 30 hours of playtime. The example I’m sharing took about 18 hours.
- An empty slot in your community
- Open slots in your legacy survivor pool
Survivor Tips
- First, leverage your legacy survivors and the handy Recruit Legacy Survivor radio ability to max out your survivor pool.
- Start fresh with a new community and pick a difficulty level. Quick tip: Green difficulty will get you there fastest.
- Take a moment to roll the stats for your survivors.
- Want an edge? Opt for the trader and warlord legacy boons. You’ll thank me later.
- Check out the hero bonus for each survivor in the Community window once the game gets going.
- If “Tough Negotiation” doesn’t pop up as a bonus, wipe the slate clean, delete the community, and give it another go.
- Feel free to gear up your survivors with weapons and supplies as you see fit.
- Those with the “Tough Negotiation” bonus? Send them straight to the legacy pool.
- Then, kick off your target community game and bring those legacy survivors on board with the Recruit Legacy Survivor command.
- Rinse and repeat until your survivor pool is looking robust and ready for action!
Choosing Survivors to Your Community:
- Choose any map,
The map you choose is important. Meagher Valley has an announcer box facility, which starts a siege on demand. That’s my everyday choice. If you need more vehicles/more facility slots/more quest options/etc you might want to choose a different one. I won’t provide a list of maps because it’ll take a lot of side research and a lot of information to list. - Select any difficulty you prefer,
Nightmare is perfect for this type of community. Nightmare provides a decent amount of freaks, yet it isn’t as difficult as Lethal, so it’s actually easy to progress at a decent pace. - Choose any legacy boons if any. A list of legacy boons at the end of the guide,
