Correction for a bug in which the game would not play any audio.

When All Else Fails

Assuming that you have tried:

Restarting the Game

Checking audio levels and outputs

Restarting your computer

Verifying or re-installing the game (in-game progress can be saved to an account, if needed)

If none of these methods worked, then this should.

The Fix:

Open Control Panel

You can look it up using the Windows search bar.

Select Hardware and Sound

Select Sound or Manage Audio Devices (both are the same).

Select the audio device, then click on properties.

The Advanced Tab

Click on the drop-down list, then select the lowest audio sample rate (should be at the top)

(It does not have to be the most or least one, but it does seem to work)

Note the previous settings if you decide to change them back.

Then, click Apply.

Then, launch or restart the game and the audio should be working right now.

You can change it back to the previous audio sample rate if you’d like. The game will still play audio. However, you will need to repeat the steps when you start it again.

Still no audio?

If this doesn’t work, there are some other options you can try:

Enable ‘change custom song location in the in-game settings. This only applies to custom or downloaded songs, but it’s worth trying.

Geometry Dash can be found in Settings -> System> Sound -> App volume preferences, device preferences/or Volume mixer. Then, set the output device to the audio device you wish to use. This might work if the audio device you’re using isn’t the default audio device used by the computer.

Try to close any other audio-management apps.

If there is still no audio:

If you don’t hear audio anywhere else you can, it’s likely to be an issue with your system.

Look for similar issues in other games to determine whether the fixes work in Geometry Dash. This solution worked for me when I had similar issues in Raft, but it also works here.
