The Steam version of Cyberpunk 2077 can be played completely without Steam’s need if you wish to do so.
This is useful if Steam deletes your install of Cyberpunk 2077, as has happened to me.
This guide will show you how.
1. How To
Exit Steam if you have it running.
Navigate to the Cyberpunk 2077 Steam install folder. This will be in steamapps>common.
Double click REDprelauncher.exe
Click Play in the window that appears.
You can now play the game without the need for Steam to be running.
This was useful to me as I had to download Cyberpunk 2077 twice. The first time Steam deleted the game from my system for some reason. I have a slow internet connection, and this wasn’t very pleasant.
The second time I downloaded the game, I copied the entire game to another folder, so if Steam ever deletes it again, I can play the game DRM free whilst I’m waiting the tens of hours it will take to re-download the whole game on Steam.
