50GBs too much for you to keep on your disc for a fighting game?! For me too, so I explored how you can lower the game size.
 
 

Step 1: deleting files

The story of this game is presented in the form of a visual novel, if you have already seen it or you don’t care about it at all you can delete some folders to get rid of the story mode, digital extras, gallery and movie files:

data/Story/(here delete just these folders keep the other ones in because they will crash the arcade mode if deleted):

-Image
 
-SE
 
-Text
 
-Voice
 
 
data/Gallery/
 
everything except “_data” folder
 
 
data/Movies/
 
everything except “bbcfcs_opening”
 
 
(just remember that if you actually start the “Story mode” in the game, now the game will crash, all the other modes work fine)
 
 
Now we are on 26gb size
 
 
 

Optional: full story wipe

If you really don’t care about the story even in the condensed form of arcade mode then you can delete the whole “Story” folder and leave nothing in, as well as “Story_arcade” then you will squeeze out an extra 6gb and we are currently on 20gb game size without any kind of compression.
 
 
 

Step 2: compressing

Using a tool called CompactGUI (link here – [] ) we can compress the game’s size from 26 to 18GBs ( you could probably get it to compress even more if you also delete the Story_arcade folder)
 
 
The tool only works on Windows 10 and it compresses the size of the games. It works on many games with different results (link for the list here – [github.com] ) but since BBCF is shipped uncompressed anyway the difference in compression is pretty big.
 
 
Select your “Blazblue CentralFiction” folder on your PC, select the XP16K option for compression and let the program do its thing. After it is finished it will show the size on disk is now 18GB
