Midnight Castle Succubus – How to wall jump

It’s pretty simple and fun!

Once you get to the Map B section of this game, there’s an area (down some stairs and around the left drop down melty ice area, not the part with the 3 floors of 4 portal doors each) where you get an upgrade that lets you sprint as a succubus. This combined with double jump will let you jump over large chasms, and then in that 3 floors of 4 portal doors there’s a big chasm you can jump over that will give you the succubus hand upgrade that lets you wall jump.

I was messing up because I kept jumping towards the wall and hitting jump and nothing would happen, so I would try pressing away from the wall and hitting jump (like Super Metroid) and nothing would happen.

WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO is jump towards the wall you wish to wall jump from, but stop pressing a direction, just tap the jump button without pressing left or right anymore. It’ll bounce you off the wall in the other direction. KEEP NOT PRESSING LEFT OR RIGHT and you can bounce back and forth between two walls as much as you want.

You’ll notice the appearance of a wall jump looks different than regular jumping. Basically, in the situation in this screenshot, don’t press left or right (towards or away from the wall), just tap the jump button when you’re at the wall, and you’ll wall jump. It turns out it’s easier than I thought it would be, it’s easy to overthink how this should work.
