Hey there, welcome to this post, Limbus Company – Linux blue screen on startup bug fix guide.

This is an essential guide for people who play Limbus Company on Linux. This guide is specifically for those who have older hardware and have to use the launcher command PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 You’ll probably encounter several graphical problems that will prevent you playing the game.

This guide will show you ways to solve those issues.

This is a common problem. Here’s a solution.

It is important to note that the bug will remain but it will let you get around it.

Click 2-3 times

Press ALT and ENTER (if windowed, go to fullscreen then go back to windowed)

Grab the window and gently move it.

Click the window resize icon one or two times

Press ALT and enter once more (the game should be broken textures or blue screen in step 6 or 7).

You’ve probably encountered this bug when you’re doing the following as so far as I can tell.

1.Mouse over the IDs in the dispense section (100% chance).

2.Entered an dungeon node that was mirror (100 percent chance of happening according to my knowledge)

3.Used and EGO attack (yes this will cause that bug 100% everytime)

4.entering a Canto (it’s somewhat random and isn’t 100% guaranteed to happen)

For Trigger Number 1 (Dispense Section)

You can avoid the black screen bug if keep your mouse clear of the IDs at the bottom and on the interior of the box. Meaning you have to navigate your mouse around the box to get to the other sections. As as I can tell you can click the section of shards. The box is now safe to use the mouse without worry of black screening.

If you have to use EGO shards for IDs, you can use them. The solution I’ll provide for the blackscreen issue allows you to slowly and painfully move your mouse over them. It will trigger again the issue, and you’ll need to use the workaround repeatedly until you are able to purchase the ID through the UI.

[FIXING BLACKSCREEN BUG]

Press Enter and ALT to enter windowed mode if not already there.

2.Jiggle or slightly move the window (step 2 might not be needed)

3.Mouse over to the top portion of the window.

4.Resize/scale the window up and down until the black screen bug disappears

Enjoy playing Limbus Company

Note: I’ve only tested this for triggers 1-2. It’s likely that it’ll be able to work with triggers 3 and 4, since it’s the same bug from what I’ve observed.
