Thank you for visiting, and welcome to the Like a Dragon: Ishin! – Complete Guide to Fishing Guide!

It’s a manual guide for capturing every fish in the game.

Introduction

This guide will help you catch all kinds of fish needed for the complete list.
You can find fish you’ve already caught in the [Another Life] section on the list of complete. There are four places to catch fish. There are two spots for river fish and one for sea fish. There are 29 types of fish, but you will also need to catch 10 regular and one big tuna for the diligence records.

Each fish you catch gives you 10 Virtue (at base level of Virtue Cultivation perk). This is a good way to earn lots of Virtue early in the game.

Fishing poles

There are six fishing rods, each with its pros and pros and.

  • Easy Starter is a good starting fishing pole. The worst one in the game, but is accessible for free at the start.
  • River Classic is a good choice for fishing in the river. Costs 400 Virtue at any shrine.
  • Rivermaster is a great way to catch fish in the river. Costs 1,500 Virtue at any shrine.
  • Sea Classic, a decent catch for fish in the ocean. Costs 400 Virtue at any shrine
  • Seamaster is great for catching fish in the river. Costs 1,500 Virtue at any shrine.
  • Peerless Pole – Remember that part when I told you that every fishing rod has pros and pros and Well, I lied. This rod is ideal for fishing, and has all the top stats. It is equally impressive in the river and in the sea. Costs 4,000 Virtue at any of the shrines.

It’s incredibly fast to earn 400 Virtue by fishing, and I recommend switching from the easy Starter as soon as possible. To get the fishing rod it is necessary to start the minigame by pressing # on the Dualshock or X on your Xbox controller.

Fishing Bait

Next up is fishing bait. You can catch some without it however, using it can make fish more plentiful, and the rare varieties of it show up with greater probability. There are 4 types of bait:

  • Bait – 500 mon. You can purchase them at an General Goods or Baitmonger in Rakunai. This is the cheapest option but it is better than nothing.
  • Quality Bait – 1000 mon. You can purchase it at a General Goods Store or a Baitmonger’s store in Rakunai. This will supply most fish you need.
  • Special Bait– 2000 mon. You can purchase it from a Baitmonger in Rakunai. It is the second most effective option.
  • Top-grade Bait – 5000 mon. You can purchase it from an Baitmonger at Rakunai. It is extremely expensive in the beginning game, but attracts many fish. It is extremely useful in finding the Big Tuna.

Now that you have a good understanding of the rods for fishing and bait, it is time to catch fish. The silhouette of a fish, its speed (or absence of it) along with its size and where it is located on the screen are all indicators that it is different.

Fishing spots

There are four fishing spots. Each can be subdivided into three to five zones. (These images are an approximate estimation, and aren’t extremely precise)
