How to make 50,000 cats or more by day 1 on Kenshi from the beginning of the Wanderer start!

1. Character Creation & First Move

This step is not very important; you could use any race for this and be perfectly fine. I would recommend Scorchlander or Hive Worker Drone for a higher athletics experience gain but it’s not required. You will want to leave all options on default or go for personal preference; the only thing that will make a difference for this guide is Nest multiplier, which I will be putting at a nice healthy 4x for the purposes of this guide (More nests = easier time doing this strat, but it’s possible with default settings). You will be moving right away to the hive village almost directly west of The Hub, which I will mark below.

Once you are at the hive village, hold Left ALT and run around the surrounding area. You’re searching for beak thing nests. Holding ALT will reveal the eggs on the ground. Those are your targets. There is almost always at least 1 beak thing nest in close proximity of the Hive Village. If there is not, reroll if you care about the “1 day” goal. This is what you’re looking for :

Once you’ve located your target hive you’re ready to begin the difficult part :

2. Getting Those Eggs!

Your average Kenshi player may know that each beak thing egg is worth around 6000 cats. They will tell you it’s not worth the risk of getting your legs chewed off by a herd of beak things. Well I am here to tell you that you can, with 1 point in every stat; harvest that entire nest and sell it off within a half day. This is done by exploiting the extremely slow windup of a Beak Thing’s attack animation, and a minor oversight on the developer’s part that causes enemies to start attacking you even if you attack them while the game is paused. I will demonstrate this in a video below. You want to drag most of the Beak Things away from the nest before fetching too many eggs as you may have trouble pulling this trick off while encumbered.

If you manage to collect and sell most of the eggs before about 1400-1600, you should see the hiver shopkeepers refresh their stock, and therefore; their supply of cats. A lot of this may depend on RNG, the game may spawn a beak thing nest with lots of eggs or not so many. Don’t feel too bad about it because it’s still a lot of money for this early.

Don’t Forget!, while the Beak things’ eggs are a vital part of this strategy, you can also drag as many beak things as possible back to the Hive village. After the hive guards have overpowered them, you can harvest the skins and make even more cats!

3. Conclusion

In my attempt here, I made off with about 45,000 cats. I have done this strategy several times, the money can vary from a (very unlucky) 30k to (high luck) 60k. You know you’ve hit bad luck when the beak thing nest only has three or so eggs. You can still sell the hides though!

Kenshi - 50k Cats Day 1 Wanderer

I made this guide mostly because I see people complaining about “how grindy” Kenshi is, when this is simply not the case. Sure you could mine copper for ten days straight barely making even and starving your party or you could make a quick 50k and start on your adventures right away!

Some may call this gamey, but there are several other ways to make lots of cash early-game I can think of that would be much more exploitative than this. It’s a great way to get some quick cash early-game and paves the way to even more potential gains in the future. Great for starting out your hashish running or armorsmithing industry!

This is all about Kenshi – 50k Cats Day 1 Wanderer (Fast Money); I hope you enjoy reading the Guide! If you feel like we should add more information or we forget/mistake, please let us know via commenting below, and thanks! See you soon!
