So, for what ever reason Bethesda has decided to nerf a lot of common things in this game, one being sprinting. Your character is only able to sprint only at a 90 degree angle. Any deviations and it becomes to over cumbersome that they have to stop.

Well, this fixes that. This was in no way discovered by me, I just figured this will more accessible to people than having to google it in some random forum thread from 5-6 years ago.

Original thread or at least where I found this from:

I apologize if this has been posted here already, I didn’t see it listed among the first few posts at least when I searched for it.

Fallout 4 - FO4 - How to not cancel sprint when strafing

1. Go to edit C:\Users\ #YOURaccount# \Documents\My Games\Fallout4)

2. Edit Fallout4Custom.ini

3. Add this (if you already have [Controls], just add the parameter):

[Controls]
fSprintStopDirectionThresholdDegrees=80.0000

8. is the degree of angle where you are able to sprint. As in the context of the game, you are able to sprint while pressing A + W, W and W + D, as opposed to just W which is just plain stupid.

You could technically add 180 to be able to sprint to the sides as well and 360 to be able to sprint backwards, but that is too OP at least for my liking, since you can’t exactly sprint too well to the sides or the back in real life either.
