Welcome. This Embark – Prospecting and Mining Guide was written to be of use to you, and we genuinely hope that it is.
Inspired by the deep simulation of Dwarf Fortress, the open world survival of Minecraft, and the social interactions of The Sims. Embark is a colony management game with a focus on complex simulation in a huge living 3D world.
Prospecting and Mining
Prospecting will enable you to find many underground things. This includes Coal.
(These are all the ones I have found so far)
Click on the pickaxe to the left of your screen to access The prospecting bar.
The item on your left is what you are looking for.
The ‘hits,’ on the left indicate whether you are mining in an appropriate direction. The closer you are to achieving your goal, the more hits.
(If this is too small, click on it. It will be as large as I can make.
In this instance, I selected Chalcopyrite (155 hits).
As you can see, I have a mine very similar to the one you might find in Minecraft. I have a shaft that leads down and s*rip mining, allowing me to see the ore.
Highlighted in green are the distances of the ore from the green circle.
If your prospecting screens look like mine, then take mine apart as I did. You’ll likely find some more.
These are just a few of the ores I could locate that I haven’t mined yet.
You will be able to tell when the ore is very distinct.
