This is a guide for NOT making your crewmates suffer from your existence alone. Please follow it so ensure you aren’t universally hated in every lobby.

Crewmate

The emergency button is for emergencies.

You don’t just press it because you wonder what does it do. It quite clearly shows and says that it’s an emergency button. Therefore it only should be used during emergencies and not curiosity, trolling, or blind voting. Chances are, even if you’re trolling, you’re super unfunny, and you’re just ruining the game for everyone.

And yeah, nobody cares about your self-advertisements and memes. You can’t even call them that.

This is not a casino; this is a game.

Blind voting gets you nowhere. Most of the time, if you just “sus” someone, you might as well eject your own crewmate, as most often, the impostor acts the least suspicious.
This also refers to seeing someone kill or vent – you HAVE to give enough evidence to back your point up; otherwise, you look like an impostor yourself. And if you are, congrats – you don’t know how lying works and are most likely to be ejected at the next meeting.

Back your point up

Any piece of info can be a winning module for you, and based on how you perform in a meeting will decide the fate of one player.
Unless you’re that one person in a lobby who won’t stop making blind votes or not giving enough evidence to the case – even if the one you are accusing is an impostor, have they a larger vocabulary they can pretty much vote back against you.

I cannot stress this enough. Enough info can be a key to winning, and you shouldn’t leave any details out.

For the love of God, don’t leave a lobby you JUST joined.

The thing is, a huge ton of players can be seen joining the lobby to leave it (for reasons unknown). Therefore I have to make it clear – people are looking for a balanced game full of players.
If you start a 10 player game and end up with 5 players 1 second into the match, the game is ruined for everyone.

And I know you didn’t get Impostor. Frankly, no one cares.

You aren’t special.

If you join a match and see that you aren’t an Impostor, don’t outright leave the match. Most people probably know that it’s scummy and outright keep abusing it, but tolerating it is not something straightforward to do because it shortens the number of players, and chances are, they have names like:

“you didn’t know I.”
“how come I.”
“who knew I.”
“u idiots I.”
“u know I.”
“no, I.”
“I”

And many similar ones, trying to look funny on the ejection screen, should they be ejected. The thing with it is, you aren’t funny, and people like you are almost in every game. There’s also a big chance that you’d leave right after the game starts just because you didn’t get Impostor, and when you do, it turns out that you don’t even really know how to play or blindly accuse someone. Or both.

Impostor

Don’t kill out in the open.

Learn to play smart.

It would help if you didn’t kill anyone in front of another person, as that person can report the body and accuse you outright. Your kill button would also be on a cooldown timer, and reporting a body is instant. It also stops any sabotage and instantly starts a meeting.

The same applies to venting.

An action of “venting” means hopping into or out of ventilation. Only the Impostor can perform said action, making them a prime suspect should someone witness them do it.

This also applies to kills in corridors, for example, Upper Engine —> Cafeteria or O2 —> Navigation corridors, as they can be seen on the security cameras on The Skeld.

Lie, seduce, team up

Blindly voting someone out can put you on the sus list.
Makeup something outlandish if you need to if it helps you get out of a sticky situation.
Get creative and invent your own strategies and things to tell other people to make them fall into your word trap, but don’t just sit there silently or blindly go “pink,” “yellow,” or “purple.”

Easily finding out Impostors is common in Among Us, so for the sake of everyone, lie as much as you can to make the game alive and yourself not to be voted off.

General

(Applies to everyone)

Don’t threaten someone or call them names.

It’s a game, sure, but it also makes you look stupidly hostile, especially making it weird if you’re the crewmate. You win even if you sacrifice your own life, so don’t be rude to your own crewmates, or if you’re the Impostor – hostile players are easily getting voted off.

Put thought into it

Any slip of your words can make the game ended too quickly on either side, not making it as enticing or “GG-worth” after the match ends. Be creative, and don’t just blindly throw accusations and votes. You aren’t grinding for anything in this game, so make it fun, will you?

Please.

This game is cool, so make sure you’re not the only one having fun. 😉
