As someone who has had trouble convincing my friends to play with me, this helpful guide should be useful for anyone who has rerun into this problem.

Step One: Have a Friend

Friends can be acquired in a whole number of ways. You can meet them at school, at the office party, or just by talking to a stranger on the street. You can tell someone is friends with you if they interact with you willingly instead of interacting with you awkwardly out of social obligation.

Step Two: Tell Your Friend About the Game

It’s like, really cool, I promise, I’ve played it like for 5 hours now, and it’s enjoyable, it gets perfect, so basically you’re on a ship with a bunch of people, but like one of them is an impostor, and he’s trying to kill people, and like you kill people by pressing a button onscreen, but like also you have to do tasks, and the tasks are like self-explanatory, and if you finish the tasks you win, but also the impostor can win by killing you all first, but also you can throw him out and win, but also if you throw out the wrong person you can lose, but also like he can sabotage things or pretend to do tasks, and like also he goes through vents so don’t forget that part,

Step Three: “Uh, okay. I’m kinda confused, but alright.”

Trust me, trust me, it’ll get good. Like, I swear it gets good. Like it’ll make sense after a few playthroughs. It’s confusing at first, but it gets good, I promise. Like play it with me, and you’ll see. It’s a good game. It’ll make more sense after you play it.

Step Four: “You want me to pay five dollars for this?”

Well, actually, it also has a free mobile version. But like the mobile version has ads. But you can play it for free. But I also like it controls and runs better on PC from my experience. But you can do it on your phone. And if you like it on your phone, you can get it on PC later. So try it for now. I’ll wait for it to download. Just get it. It’ll be good, I promise. You like to don’t even have to pay for it. But if you want to later you can pay for it.

Step Five: “Okay, okay, fine; I bought it. I just went and bought it.”

Okay, good, good! You’ll like it. Like I promise you’ll like it. Just play it. You can also refund it if you end up hating it. But you’ll like it. Just launch the room now. Open the game. I have it open I already made a room so that you can join from the code.

Step Six: “Wait, what do I do now? I’m confused. Where do I go now?”

No, no wait, just hit “play” hit play, and then go to a private game. Just go to like the private game button. It’ll let you enter a code. Just go there. Don’t do local or like a matchmaker; it just goes to the private game. I have a code.

Step Seven: “Okay, I see it. What’s the code?”

XTYV. Here I’ll put it in the chat too. XTYV.

Step Eight: “Code didn’t work.”

XTYV! Are you sure you got it right? XTYV. Try it again

Step Nine: “Okay, now the code is working, but I keep getting a packet error.”

No, no, it does that. Like it does that. There’s just a large influx of players. It does that. Just keep clicking back in. Do it like ten times. It’ll work. Just keep pressing it. The servers are just overloaded. The game is a bit slow. But it works. Just keep trying it. It’ll work. Just keep going. Like, keep pressing it. It’ll go through. It worked for me. If you keep doing it, it’ll work. Maybe restart?

Step Ten: “Okay, I restarted. It still doesn’t work.”

No, no, it’ll work. Like, keep trying. I swear it’ll let you in. Just try it a few more times. Like, keep trying it. It’ll work. It only takes a few tries. It’s just the servers. It’ll work. It’ll work soon, probably. Just keep trying to get in the game.

Step Eleven: “Yeah, okay, no, this isn’t working. I’m just gonna go do something else, talk to you later.”

Oh uh, well yeah, okay. Maybe another time? I think it’ll work eventually. You sure you don’t want just to play something else? I’m sorry. I promise that it IS a fun game. It’ll work like maybe next week. We should try it next week. Like this is a good game, you would definitely like it. Next week, okay? Wait? Did you already leave? Oh okay. Well. Next week. Hopefully.
