A few thoughts or notes on economic management.

Some general tips

1. This is basic to almost all RTS but i’ll mention it nonetheless:

• In the beginning, you should try to concentrate as much as you can on the economy and as little defense as possible.
• once you are in the final phase (4-2 rounds left) you shouldn’t get any economic upgrades anymore and concentrate on upgrading defenses

That means if you can get away with relying solely on your character to beat the first waves, do it.

Early on, you may need to use towers or even a team that can protect you from melee and ranged attacks. You should check what works best for you.

(The defensive units become extremely valuable on bigger maps where attacks originate from many directions)

2. From what I’ve observed, enemies (especially the ones charging directly for your castle) are able to be directed towards specific routes by blocking certain areas of the map and leaving others open – you could abuse that behavior

3. Your character will be able to attract enemies’ attention by attacking them. Still, you will lose it if your too far away – you could use that to fly them around in a circle – usually in front of towers or defenders with ranged positions. If you do it correctly, you will be able to accomplish this without ever being hit

(can be used to split up a group of enemies into different defenses that are otherwise out-of-range)

4. If your mobile defenders are outnumbered, you should have them remain in position (hold with ctrl) behind walls or other obstacles, especially if your choice of perks/weapons/etc. keeps them from spawning This is more important for units with range than melee units.

That’s the bulk of the basic stuff, but there’s more to it as there are certain things you can do differently based on the weapon you’re using and the perks you’re getting that is the charme of this game

Specific suggestions

1. It is a good idea to locate the mine to the to the west of the city prior to wave 2 (requires architect perk). This will allow you to expand your business faster.

I don’t think there’s any other tips that I believe are helpful currently – there are extremely powerful combinations of weapon and perk but it’s better to come up with your own
