Starfield – How to Master the Art of Persuasion

Ever wondered how to sway characters in Starfield? Here’s your guide to understanding persuasion in the game and making it work in your favor. Let’s dive in!

When chatting with NPCs in Starfield, sometimes you’ll spot dialogue choices marked [Persuade]. Picking these choices brings up the persuasion UI. Your goal? Fill the Persuasion meter within a set number of turns. The color-coded options (green, yellow, and red) show how tricky each choice is. Tougher ones earn you more points towards filling that meter.

Sometimes, you might hit a “Critical Success”, which gives you extra points. And after a while, you can unlock auto-persuade. This cool feature completes the persuasion game for you, but remember; you can save only one auto-persuade at once.

Ways to Boost Your Persuasion Game

Successfully persuading an NPC can mean avoiding a fight or getting some awesome gear. So, how can you get better at it?

First, there’s the Persuasion perk. It ups your chances of winning NPCs over. Also, putting Skill Points into the Persuasion Skill in the Social tree helps a lot. The more ranks you get, the better your odds. There’s even a special Negotiation skill later on. This lets you use credits to persuade NPCs easily.

What you drink and wear can also help. Drinks like Hippolyta or Sparkling Wine temporarily boost your persuasion odds. And outfits? Think of wearing a Fitted Business Suit or a Green Fashionable Suit. They help increase your chances.

One last tip: always quick save quickly before starting a chat with NPCs during quests. If things don’t go your way, you can reload and try again. Just remember, once you start talking, you can’t save until you’re done.

So there you have it! Use these tricks, and you’ll be a master at persuading Starfield NPCs in no time.
