Sea of Thieves – How to get past the Guards

Ahoy there, fellow adventurers! Prepare yourselves for a legendary journey to Mêlée Island in Sea of Thieves. Now, there’s a little snag on our path to greatness, and it comes in the form of some pesky skeleton guards. These bony fellas are on a mission to block our way to the Governor’s Mansion and wreak havoc around town. But fear not, my shipmates! I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to get past them and save the day.

Outsmarting the Skeletal Imps

To reach the Governor’s Mansion and rescue our beloved Guybrush, we’ll need to outsmart those skeletal imps. Trust me, it’s no simple task, but the glory that awaits us is worth the effort. Plus, we’ll be ticking off a bunch of commendations along the way. Talk about slaying two krakens with one cannonball!

Acquiring the Chef’s Uniform and Preparing Delicious Stew

First things first, we need a Chef’s Uniform to deal with the guard taking a break behind the Church. Swing by the General Store and grab that fancy attire. Oh, and don’t forget to whip up some delicious stew with the meat. Take that tasty treat to the alley behind the Church and feed it to the hungry Piranha Poodles. Those rascals will attack the guard and leave a skeletal corpse in their wake.

Assembling the Replacement Guard

Now, it’s time to assemble our replacement guard. It’s like building a wobbly Jenga tower, but with bones. We’ll need Murray from the Scum Bar, the bone held by Spiffy the Dog, the one hidden inside the Clock Tower (which requires nabbing the Clock Tower key), and the bone tucked away in the Mêlée Island Jail cell.

To get the bone from Spiffy, you’ll have to purchase a monkey doll from one of the Citizens of Mêlée Island. That little trinket will be your ticket to a bone trade with Spiffy. Once you’ve secured the bone, attach it to the skeletal body in the alley.

Next up, we’ll need to swipe the Clock Tower key from the Thirsty Pirate and remove the bone blocking the clock mechanism. Oh, and don’t forget to set the clock to midnight while you’re at it.

Creating Chaos with Gunpowder Gummies

Now, let’s make some noise! Grab the Gunpowder Gummies from the bench where the guard was taking a break. You can find the gunpowder fuses at the General Store. Head over to the jail, insert the Gunpowder Gummies into the cell locks, attach the fuses, and ignite them with your trusty lantern.

Boom! Both jail cells are now open, and our dear friend Otis is free. He’ll leave behind a little gift called Captain Coco. But before you snatch that bone from the adjoining cell, attach it to the skeletal body in the alley. Return to the jail, pick up Captain Coco, and head straight to the Scum Bar. Trade that coconut for our good friend Murray.

Once you’ve got Murray in your possession, you can head back to the body and complete your magnificent guard creation by attaching him.

A Guided Tour and Murray’s Grand Entrance

But hold on a second, me hearties! I’ve got a recommendation for you. Take Murray on a guided tour around the island, hitting all those key locations. You’ll earn yourself another commendation while showcasing our skeletal star to the whole island. It’s like having a celebrity sightseeing adventure!

Once Murray’s head is securely attached to the body, brace yourselves for an undead reanimation like you’ve never seen. Our boy Murray will strut his stuff and take his rightful place in front of the guard blocking our path to the Mansion. With Murray on the job, the doors will swing wide open for us.

The Dramatic Finale

Now, it’s time for the dramatic finale. Ascend the grandeur of the Governor’s Mansion and have a chat with Guybrush. Don’t forget to nab Elaine’s Note and the Key from under Guybrush’s bedsheets. Unlock the chest and claim your prize—a refreshing bottle of root beer. But wait! Captain LeChuck and his army of skeletons crash the party. Fear not, for the root beer shall be our savior.

Unleash the power of the fizzy beverage and defeat those bony foes. As if by magic, you’ll notice the guards have vanished from the town. It’s a triumph, my fellow adventurers! All that’s left to do is tie up any remaining commendations and revel in the glory of completing The Journey to Mêlée Island.

So, chart your course, gather your crew, and prepare for an adventure filled with puzzles, challenges, and undead mayhem. Mêlée Island awaits, and our names shall be etched into its legendary history. Onward, my intrepid seafarers!
