In ~\Steam\steamapps\common\NEO Scavenger\data find the encounters.xml file and open it with a text editor.

Search using CTRL+F

Edge of the Forest

Seven lines down, you’ll see:

This needs to be changed into:

<column name=”aConditions”>1,373</column>

(This will give the encounter a good chance to occur. Save the.XML file and move on to the next section if rolling virtual dice is your thing, but if the encounter must happen, then continue reading.)

CTRL+F:

The 8th line will show you:

Finding the Glade within the game

Go 11 hexes West of the Cryo Facility and you’ll discover an unusually dark forest.

Depending on your skill level, you will be presented with several options upon entering the hex. If you have made all the edits for a guaranteed experience, you can choose to “continue on the path”. Otherwise, choose whatever you like.
