Hi, welcome to this post, We hope you will find this page helpful as we provide information regarding the Halls of Torment – How to complete quest and achievements.
This is a complete guide for all quests + Gear and how to get them.
Introduction
KEEP IN MIND YOU CAN ONLY COMPLETE QUESTS/ACHIEVEMENTS THAT YOU HAVE UNLOCKED ACCESS TO IN THE QUEST STONE
You can complete quests on any level unless it’s something like the wellkeeper or cupbearer, where they are level specific.
You can keep this guide open on Steam overlay to check quests mid-run.
You can “control + f” to find specific words.
For all gold collection quests, refer to the section about farming gold.
For all damage requirement quests, refer to the section about farming Forgotten Viaduct ghosties
This guide covers quests and their requirements, plus I’ve included a section on gold farming and reaching level 100. I’ll get around to adding a gear breakdown section eventually. I’ve added some helpful hints for some of the more difficult quests. I’ll add additional suggestions as I learn new things or someone makes a solid point in the comments, etc.

Chapter II: Ember Grounds
Ability Expert Quests
Not too difficult after you’ve acquired the starting ability unlock (Ember Dominator III Quest). Just prioritize getting all the abilities that spawn into the levels. Ignoring the starting ability unlock, Haunted Caverns starts with 1 ability on the ground. Ember Grounds and Forgotten Viaduct start with 2. So it’ll be easier on those 2.

The final boss of Ember Grounds. It throws out spinning purple blades that rotate in a circle, so don’t get caught in their path. Summons purple orbs that slowly track you. On contact they act like suicide imps and create an explosion after a delay. If you’re relying on lighting strikes for dmg you should try to pop as many of them as you can because lightning strike will try to target them and you lose a lot of dps on the boss. Just be sure not to get caught in the delayed explosion when popping them. So keep moving!

Taking Aim – Wait for 180 seconds before you start moving. You must move in order to complete the quest.

Need 2-3 Revives. You might think turning on auto aim is a good idea, but you should wait til mobs get within ur pickup range then kill them so you can get xp. Obviously, if ur about to get mobbed start firing away. The elite that spawns will probably kill you, that’s what the revivals are for. They give you I-frames and push back the mobs buying you time. Make sure you move after waiting the 3 minutes.

Fragile Stamina – Survive 20 minutes without regenerating any health. Recovery from Potions or effects is allowed. [ANY CHARACTER]
Reward – Item: Pacesetters
It’s important to note this is any character because if you’re using a character that has innate regen (like the cleric) it means you cannot get hit for 28 minutes. If you take a character that has no innate regen and you don’t take regen traits you will be fine. All you have to do is survive for 28 minutes. You can pause at the start of the run to verify you have no regen.
Fragile Body – Survive 28 minutes with your original max health. (Don’t use items, blessings or traits) [ANY CHARACTER]
Reward – Item: Blood Catcher
Make sure to unspec all %HP from the shrine of blessings before you start your run. Then just make sure to not take any HP or demonic pact traits and you’ll be fine. You can pause at the start of the run to verify you have no HP modifiers.
Unholy Touch – Apply 50 000 debuffs in total.
Reward – 1000 Gold
Cleric main weapon applies fragile and affliction. Taking transfixion and speccing fragile/affliction and on hit chance is a good way to farm this quest.
Burning Belief Deal 500 000 burn damage in one run.
Reward – 1000 Gold
See damage quest farming section.
Taking the ring of fire will allow you to apply burn on-hit with your main weapon. The best ability for this would be dragon’s breath. If you get transfixition specced for on hit chance. If you have radiant aura you can spec for sacred flame. Try to get as much attack speed as possible so you can maximize your burn stacks applied.
Broken Body – Apply 10 stacks of Fragile on a single enemy at once.
Reward – 1000 Gold
With transfixition specced for fragile/affliction + on hit chance and cleric main weapon and enough attack speed it’s super easy to apply to Forgotten Viaduct ghosties.
Unction – Acquire the trait [Metabolism V] in a run.
Reward – Blessing: On Hit Chance
Just grab the Metabolism trait every time it shows up.
Cleric’s Stand – Regenerate 1 500 HP in one run. Only passive regeneration is counted.

If you want to take it one step further you can move your mouse away from you entirely. If you do that make sure to choose abilities that auto aim themselves, as you can not have auto aim enabled.

Use ring of thunder on pretty much any character, Exterminator is the best class to apply on-hit with. Take electric abilities that have the ability to apply electrify. Take all electrify chance traits. IF you get transfixiion as an option that’s not bad either due to it’s on-hit chance traits.
Magic Step – Block 90 attacks in one run.
Reward – 1000 Gold
Take block chance gear (ei. elven slippers). Max out block chance blessing. Take as many block traits as possible. Purposely get hit by enemies that do low damage, because the lower damage the higher chance you have of blocking it. That chance increases with how much block chance you have.

Gold Farming
The tldr for this section is breaking as many pots are possible and moving as fast as possible while doing it. Pots have a chance to drop gold, gold slimes, and powerups.
Archer– We’ll be using archer because he has traits for increased projectiles, movespeed, and AOE.
Blade rings – act like boomerangs that fly off far into the distance hitting many things with infinite peirce. The perfect ability for breaking as many pots as possible. Take the upgrades that give more projectiles.
Ember grounds – seems to have the most breakable objects out of all the levels and spawns the most gold slimes. Also has 2 starting abilities on the ground, not counting the unlockable one. Which is better than Haunted Caverns which only has 1.
If you have the starting ability unlocked keep restarting your run until you get blade rings.
Traits to focus on
Movespeed – so you can generate the most pots as possible. Keep in mind that even if you break all the pots in an area, the game is always generating new pots to break off screen. SO ALWAYS KEEP MOVING.
Projectiles – the more you have the higher chance that your blade rings will hit a pot
AOE – same principle as above. the bigger your projectiles are the higher chance they have of hitting something
Attack speed – faster attacks means more projectiles
pickup range – this isnt for picking up xp because you’re going to be generating tons of pickup gloves. This is to make it easier to pickup both powerups and gold since they aren’t affecting by the pickup gloves.
Damage – obviously if you don’t spec any damage you won’t be able to clear the run. so if you don’t have one of the above traits as an option when you level up or you simply feel like ur dmg is lacking pickup dmg ie. strength, crit chance, crit damage.
Gear –
“Ringblades throwing distance/speed has been reduced, mostly to avoid it destroying containers far off-screen.”
The strat has been nerfed a lot, but is still a viable option for farming gold.
After playing with the blade rings nerfs they still feel fine. I just made sure to spec into ranged. What did feel different was gold slimes. They seemed to not drop as much gold as before, and they don’t leave trails with a ton of gold if they expire off screen anymore.
confirmed that gold slimes have been “fixed” which is where most of the gold loss comes from. I’m still not aware of any better gold farming strategy. (6/27/23)

Damage Quest Farming (Forgotten Viaduct Ghosties)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2983982453 – [steamcommunity.com]
This guide is does a pretty good explanation of the process. If I ever get around to it i’ll write my own version of this section.
Hitting level 100
Level 100+ can only be reached on Forgotten Viaduct with Jade Amulet.
The only mandatory gear as stated above is Jade amulet. Forgotten Viaduct is the only level that provides enough XP to hit level 100. It might be possible on one of the other 2 levels with full quest completion and Jade Amulet, but it’s not worth it. Other than that, your goal is to kill ♥♥♥♥ as fast as possible. I recommend leaving the starting SUCC glove alone until the end of the run as it will allow you to suck in any XP that gets stuck behind either wall of ghosties. Make sure to make your way to both sides of the bridge for the ability pickups. Don’t linger near any of the ghosties as it makes XP drop behind them and you can’t grab it until you use the SUCC glove at the end. I like to keep moving into packs of enemies. My philosophy is that the faster you move into dense areas and kill things that faster they die and the faster they respawn. Rather than standing still and waiting for enemies to make their way to you.
I might add more to this later and/or add a section for ability recommendations.

Windcrown is easily the best Headwear in the game. Makes all the other options weak by comparison.
Necklace:
Jade Amulet like the Windcrown has little to no competition within its gear slot. The additional stats you acquire from traits from leveling more often due to the +50% XP far outweighs any stats provided by any other amulet in the game. The less bonus XP you have from quests makes this item even more valuable.
Rings:
For crit builds:
Exterminator, Cleric, and Warlock can’t crit with their main weapon, but can crit with abilities.
Copper Ring and Wooden Ring should be self explanatory as to why they’re good for crit builds. Crit Damage traits give 20% per trait and Crit Chance trait gives 5% per trait. This means that they are both worth 2 levels of traits each. With the added bonus that they allow us to go beyond the normal amount granted from the 5 or 6 level of those traits.
I’m under the assumption that all Physical builds are crit builds.
Echoing Band potentially gives you a lot more pack clearing capabilities, but the 2 rings above are stronger. This ring could pair well with blade rings, I haven’t tested it. Same with Astronomer’s Orbs, but they kinda suck so I don’t recommend them. I’m not sure if taking AOE traits increases the area of the splash damage. Keep in mind it only works with attacks that have the Physical tag.
For On-hit builds:
If you’re going On-hit, scale elemental damage and things like Transfixition On-hit chance.
Primarily for use with Exterminator, but can also work well on others like Cleric. You can wear both rings at the same time and apply both Burn and Electrify on hit with your main weapon. Since Exterminator has high attack speed he can proc these effects like crazy. Cleric applies affliction and Fragile On-hit with his main weapon so he pairs well with on-hit as well.
Situational:
For stationary play styles that utilize Hunter’s Garb Chest this is a strong option.
Seal of Rebirth can be useful if you don’t have any gear to retrieve and you already have your desired loadout. You can grab it from a chest and keep it in your bag to swap to if you’re about to die. Another example, you have Echoing Band and you’re on the final boss you should just swap it out for Seal of Rebirth because Echoing Band doesn’t help you in a boss fight.
Summon Rings:
I don’t know enough about them to make recommendations. I have seen people post considerable dps with some of them though. So they might be sleeper.
Other Rings:
I didn’t mention Iron ring because it’s just bad. You could make an argument for it on Exterminator since his base dmg is so low, but that’s about it.
Chests:
Best:
Personally I just take Blood-Soaked Shirt every run as I like the healing that it gives.
Other Best:
I’ve had people hype up Hunter’s Garb due to the damage bonus and it does seem like a strong option. I like to always keep moving while I’m playing so I still prefer Blood-Soaked Shirt. Pairs well with the Guiding Star Ring.
Other Mentions:
Blazing Shell is just an upgrade to the Plate Armor that you get access to later on. Nice to take on Shieldmaiden because the block chance. The rest of the options seem to just get over shadowed by the Blood-Soaked Shirt and Hunter’s Garb.
Gloves:
Best Overall:
My understanding is that the Hunting Gloves are just straight up better than the Quickhand gloves. Hunting Gloves gives you a 30% chance to have an additional attack, which just seems much better than 20% attack speed. I have not done any math to prove that though. You also are able to get the Quickhand gloves much earlier on.
Situational:
Obviously good for runs not using your main weapon trying to scale your abilities as much as possible. Also useful for the quest for not using your main weapon.
Good on Shieldmaiden.
Good on summon builds.
Footwear:
Best:
None of the footwear options are too crazy. These just offer a simple stat boost that seem to be a bit more useful than the rest of the options.
Honorable Mentions:
I’ve seen some people talk about some wacky strengths to these boots. I just haven’t experimented with them personally.
Good on Shieldmaiden.
These could be decent too. I just haven’t experimented with them.
