Radio Miner

The most complicated part is the installation. These miners have a similar pattern.

• If you spot a resource, go to it
• If you can’t find any resource nodes in the map, go to a mining location broadcasted from the storage controller
• You can signal and wait if you don’t have the space to mine the material.
• When you can, mine the resource

The order of the rules is not correct. It stops the miners from running around when priorities shift. They will remain in one spot until the area is completely mined. Once the mines have dried, they will receive their directions directly from the controller.

You can build this on any chassis with the following features:

• You should have at least one drone or mining tool

Since the new locations are always chosen based on their distance, it’s pretty easy to keep all of them in power coverage. I use twinbots and dual lasers a lot.

Radio Transport

These transports can read the pickup signal from your miners, grab the goodies and deliver them to the storage facility of your choice. Although they are not quick, they are cheap.

Use a dashbot as a base. Add some extra storage. You want to be able empty a miner at one time. Add the radio transmitter and behaviour controller. Just add some logic, and you’re done.

Logic

The logic loop is pretty straightforward:

Firstly, you should try to unload them. To do so, select the first object in storage. Tune the Radio to the correct Channel to find out where the item is stored. Drop it here.

Once all items have a home, find the nearest unit signaling pickup. For that, you need to loop over all the signals in order to get the distance from their source. If the source distance is greater than the current minimum then it becomes the pickup location. Once all signals are processed, the destination is known. We move with async so we can constantly recalculate during the move the best destination.

Optimizations: Logic begs for speeding up with the UNLOCK commands followed by the QUICK TICKS command at the very beginning. The game is currently showing a memory leak with the behaviour logic. Therefore, I will keep the game locked up until the bug has been fixed.
