100% Achievement guide for Children of Morta.

Introduction

I recently got the game and immediately fell in love with it. I replayed it over and over and still playing it, so I decided to make a 100% Achievement Guide. I’ve categorized and organized all the achievements, I will also provide tips and tricks for challenging ones.

It is fairly easy to get all the achievements for this game. You can get all of them by just playing the dungeons over and over, which perfectly fits the rogue-like theme the game presents. There isn’t any “skill-based” achievement, instead, your own progress will be determined by your skill, but I think it is still possible to get all of them unlocked in a chill pace under 25-30~ hours of playtime.

Be warned, the guide also contains spoilers for the main story in the first section.

Upgrades (5/45)

Well-equipped

Upgrade 10 times in the workshop.

See “Armed to the Teeth” below.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Upgrades (5/45) - 7CCD394

Gear Mastery

Upgrade 25 times in the workshop.

See “Armed to the Teeth” below.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Upgrades (5/45) - 8A5FD4E

Armed to the Teeth

Upgrade 75 times in the workshop.

Upgrading your stats in Uncle Ben’s workshop is the main way to progress in the game so you will naturally progress with this through the game. The max level for the upgrades are, clockwise:

Upgrade Name Description Max Level
Armor Up Increases your maximum health for all characters 20
Warfare Increases your damage for all characters 20
Precision Increases your critical hit chance for all characters 10
Sharp Weapons Increases the critical damage dealt for all characters 5
Resilience Decreases the duration of slowing effects for all characters 5
Compulsion Increases how much rage is gained for all characters 5
Agility Increases your dodge chance for all characters 10
Swiftness Increases your movement speed for all characters 5

You can farm Morv in 3-1 and 3-2 during endgame to get the remaining upgrades. Make sure to get “Hoarder” upgrade on Book of Rea to max level to maximize Morv gain.

You can also get it naturally if you’re planning to play New Game + mode. It will boost your overall Morv gain and increase the max level cap for the upgrades on Uncle Ben’s workshop and Book of Rea. But beware, it will also reset the progress of your game, including the souvenirs needed for “Scavenger” achievement.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Upgrades (5/45) - 8CC0C40

Ancient Knowledge

Upgrade The Book of Rea 5 times.

See “Ancient Mastery” below.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Upgrades (5/45) - 744534E

Ancient Mastery

Upgrade Book of Rea 15 times.

Just like Uncle Ben’s workshop, Book of Rea upgrades provide the strength you need to progress in the game. It offers even more important things, such as Morv and Exp gain upgrades, so you will naturally progress with this achievement as well. The max level for the upgrades are, clockwise:

Upgrade Name Description Max Level
Hoarder Increases the Morv dropped from all sources 5
Obelisk Remembrance Increases the duration of all obelisks 3
Wisdom Increases experience earned for all characters 5
Gemstone ProficiencyWeapons Increases the chance a gemstone will drop from all sources 3
Runic Knowledge Increases how long your runes will last before they are depleted 3
Divine Relic Mastery Decreases the cooldown of your relics

Also, carry 2 relics
3

The most important upgrades are Hoarder and Wisdom, respectively. After these, my personal preference would be Gemstone Proficiency to increase the odds of getting strong enough to survive, thus, progress.

You can farm Morv in 3-1 and 3-2 during endgame to get the remaining upgrades.

It Runs in the Family

Kill a boss with every playable character

If you’re trying to get “Omnes pro Uno” (see below) and play all of the characters there is a high chance that you will get this naturally. If not, you can kill Spider King in Caeledippo Caves (1-1) quickly to get this achievement.

See “Omnes pro Uno” below.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Family / Characters (6/45) - 3C3D53B

Omnes pro Uno

Unlock all family traits

The so-called “family traits” are passives that you get in each character’s skill chart, which are unlocked at 4, 9, 14 and 20th levels. You need to get all of the characters to at least 20 level and assign your skill points to get this achievement.

Max “Wisdom” upgrade bonus in Book of Rea and if you have the DLCs, the Deer’s exp bonus are recommended. Combined with max “Obelisk Remembrance” upgrade and Experience Obelisk bonus, you will maximize your experience gain and level up after killing a few packs of mobs.

Fun fact: The names of first and last family trait achievements are “Unus pro Omnibus” and “Omnes pro uno” when combined, we have a Latin phrase that stands for “One for all, all for one.”

Co-op Mode (2/45)

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Co-op Mode (2/45) - CA48483

Stronger Together

Finish a dungeon in co-op mode

If you don’t have anyone to play with, you can plug in a controller, assign it as Player 2 and get this achievement on your own. You can quickly do 1-1 if you want to rush this.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Co-op Mode (2/45) - 3A51ADE

I Won’t Let You Die

Revive 5 times in co-op mode

Again, you can get this on your own with the same method. Get one character near to traps or a pack of monsters and let them die. Revive, escape and repeat. Easy peasy.

Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45)

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - 5EDFCA8

Richie Rich

Have 20.000 Morv.

This is not cumulative, you actually need to have 20.000 Morv in your inventory. It is pretty easy to get in endgame or New Game + mode. Just two full runs of 3-1 and 3-2 will get you more than required Morv.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - FB130DF

Master of the Obelisk

Gain each obelisk effect at least once.

You need to activate 8 different obelisks throughout the game. Pretty easy, pretty straightforward. You can’t miss it.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - 936C429

Geared Up

Have 3 runes equipped simultaneously.

There are three different rune colours for three different slots:

  • Red Runes are for Primary Attack
  • Yellow Runes are for Primary Skill
  • White Runes are for Secondary Skill

You will get this naturally in endgame as well.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - B5F64CB

Charming Bergson

Use 5 charms in the same dungeon run.

Charms are consumable items of the Bergsons. You will find more than 5 later on. You will get this naturally in endgame.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - D6F1840

Faithful

Find 10 divine items in a single dungeon.

You need to have 10 Divine Relics and/or Charms for this achievement. You will have more than 10 in full runs of TerraLava and get this achievement unlocked easily. It might not unlock the first time you have 10, so keep doing full runs without thinking about it, you will eventually get it.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - 1318EC5

Unstoppable Family

Kill 5000 enemies.

Pretty straightforward. You can’t miss it and unlock it easily, even before the endgame.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - 280F591

Trickster

Kill 100 enemies using hazards.

Hazards are spike traps, exploding flowers, timed-rockets etc. You will get this naturally.

Ferocity Denied

Kill 50 ferocious enemies.

See “Ferocity Shut Down” below.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - A46FA61

Ferocity Shut Down

Kill 250 ferocious enemies.

Ferocious enemies are enhanced enemies with colored highlights that got a symbol on their heads. Summoning rituals also spawn one if you don’t kill the caster enemies. You will most likely unlock this after completing the story and looking for souvenirs / leveling all the Bergsons to 20.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Runs / Grind (10/45) - 4AB5F4E

Perfectionist

Kill a boss without receiving damage.

This might seem difficult when you first see it but it is actually pretty easy. After completing the story and getting all the Uncle Ben’s Workshop and Book of Rea upgrades along with a 20+ family member, you will start to out scale some of the bosses, especially the Spider King in 1-1.

I got it with Lucy on 1-1, she has passive shields and a great damage output, especially during rage.

Dungeon Encounters / Events (10/45)

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Encounters / Events (10/45) - 67E786E

Bargainer

Free the shopkeeper

You will find this event behind the blue doors in Caeldippo Caves dungeons. After he is set free, he will appear in dungeons, selling Divine Graces, Divine Relics, Charms and Health Potions in exchange for gemstones. This is one of the main mechanics in the game and he will be useful for many achievements / overall progress.

Runemender

Free the runemender

You will find this event behind the blue doors in Barahut dungeons. After he is set free, he will appear in dungeons along with shopkeeper, repairing your equipped runes in exchange for one gemstone. You will use this feature once in a while just to preserve some of the precious runes, but it is not that useful in the endgame because of the excess of runes dropping everywhere. Still a good feature to have, though.

Children of Morta - All Achievement Guide - Dungeon Encounters / Events (10/45) - 9BB220A

Gambler

Free the blackmarketeer

You will find this event behind the blue doors in TerraLava dungeons. After he is set free, he will appear in dungeons along with shopkeeper, allowing you to gamble for Divine Relics, Divine Graces, Runes, Charms, Health Potions or Morv in exchange for one gemstone but what you get is totally random or nothing at all. This is a great feature to dump the gemstones before entering the boss fight, other than that, it usually doesn’t provide much value because of its RNG aspect. I love RNG in games but leaving empty-handed most of the time turned the blackmarketeer into a gemstone-dumpster for me.

Most Curious

Resolve 20 puzzle events.

“Puzzle events” are very straightforward, classic puzzle encounters. You will most likely unlock this before finishing the story. There are three forms of games;

“A game of chance and memory.”

  • There are four buttons and you have to press on them in the correct order.

“It is either the tiger or the lady for the Bergson.”
  • There are three buttons, one of them rewards you and the other two punishes you.

    “Pong of the Gods”
  • A pong-game, hit the other stick five times with the ball to win.

Challenger

Complete 10 challenge rooms.

“Challenge rooms” are classic “survive and get reward” rooms of the game. Once you enter a challenge room, the door will be locked behind and you will have to kill 3 waves of enemies to leave again, as well as get a reward. You will most likely unlock this before finishing the story.

Loremaster

Find 20 journals.

“Journals” are parchments that fill your codex and tell stories. They can be found behind the blue doors and they’re usually lying on the ground, except the library encounter. You will most likely unlock this before finishing the story.

No More Secrets

Find 10 secrets.

“Secrets” are blood-hungry symbols that are carved on the ground that reward you with Morv and a random item once completed. They’re pretty difficult to find if you’re not specifically looking for them. The symbol is same with the achievement’s icon but very bizarre, it gets a better hue when you kill mobs around it. After killing 10 mobs near it, it counts towards the achievement.

Here is a short video showing it in action, you need to watch it in 1080p to notice the red hue on the ground.

Scavenger

Bring back 15 souvenirs from the dungeons.

This is probably the last achievement you need and it is the one that will the take longest amount of time to unlock. There is already a detailed guide here on Steam for this specific achievement so I will just link you there.
