Call to 10 – How to Fix Game Crashing after Start

Run in Compatibility Mode

 
Others have reported issues with the game running in Windows 10 and Windows 7. First I would recommend locating the .exe file for the game in your system files, for example mine is: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call to 10”. 
 
Upon doing so right click the Call to 10.exe file, click properties, and then locate the compatibility tab.  
 
 
 
Now check the box to “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and select “Windows XP (Service Pack 3)”. 
 
 
 
Try running the game. If you still crash after clicking “New Game” and getting to the first loading screen after the camera spins around, try the next fix. 
 
 

Delete Files Causing Problems

 
If running the game in compatibility mode doesn’t work this fix should hopefully stop the game from crashing at the first loading screen. Once again, locate the Call to 10 game file in your steam folder. “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call to 10” 
 
Find the “Files” folder and go into it. 
 
 
Next you want to look for the folder titled “databank”. 
 
 
Inside the “databank” folder there will be a folder titled “call”. 
 
 
Inside the call folder is a image titled “black.png”. Delete that image. 
 
If running the game still crashes at this point, delete the entire folder titled “call”. This should fix the game and allow you to get past that first loading screen where it crashes (you should see the door below if it loaded correctly from “new game”). I am unsure if deleting this file has any effect on the rest of the game but as I play through I will update this guide if need be.
