Who to play with

The fun you have playing this game depends on you and the other players. You can play with randoms, but I would not recommend it.

Better is getting some friends together to play,
the game has a free mobile version and supports crossplay, so if your friends are not felling to pay money, they can play on their phone for free.

Playing with Friends

When you play with friends, I suggest using another communication than the ingame chat, like sitting next to another or being in a Discord call.

If you do that, you should add rules when and what to talk about.
I have the rule that during the Tasks, nobody is allowed to talk about the game,
Some people have problems with that; they say who the Imposter is when they die or who they are in one room.

To fix that, we muted everyone in our Discord Voice chat; they didn’t mute themselves; I server Muted them, so only I could unmute them again.
We are using an unofficial Discord bot that mutes us during tasks and dead people during the discussion.

This, of course, only works when you are using Voicechat. It is sadly impossible to mute people in real life.

And talking about other stuff than the game during Tasks can be fun too, you should try both with your group.

Playing with randoms

You can, of cause also play with random people when you have no friends like me. If you do that, you should follow the next step.

Rules you should follow

• Be friendly; there is no reason to be toxic; it doesn’t make fun of toxins or play with toxic people. Yes, people vote wrong, but they also have a different perspective than you.
• Don’t leave at the start of a round; yes, I want to be an imposter too. But by leaving, you make the imposter unhappy; you play fewer rounds and have less fun. I like to find out who the Imposter is, be Sherlock Holms, discuss and kick the imposter out.
• Don’t call random meetings to chat or so, do it when you saw the imposter venting or have another reason.
• Don’t get an advantage by being in a Voice call or so and getting imposters called out; it just makes the game lame. This game is about playing, not winning.
• Vote with sense; it is the main way to win as Crewmate, so use it wisely; just because you don’t like a pet or color doesn’t mean he is Imposter. Name reasons why someone could be an imposter, list them, and kick the most likely one.
• Say to your self you want to have fun playing; yes, winning is cool and stuff, but did you ever had a hilarious round? I did, and I lost it, but I had my laugh.
