Hello and welcome, This post will provide you with information regarding the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – Amagaeshi temple rarities and rewards, and we hope you will find this material helpful.

This guide discusses the rewards and rarities for each of Amagaeshi shrine’s 300 floors—attempts to avoid spoilers.
It advises on how to level up your rice after beating the game!

Intro guide

Sakuna’s post-game consists primarily of Amagaeshi Shrine, which you unlock halfway through the main game. It’s hard to find info online about rewards and their rarities; in game, each reward appears with a specific frequency, represented by several asterisks in the game file. The exact relationship between these asterisks and the drop rates is unknown.

Every fifth floor of Amagaeshi shrine features a boss; upon its death, a green glow appears and you receive a special reward. You can only complete up through floor 60 before completing the main story, but in the post-game you can go up to floor 300.

There are two types of rewards: Equippables (weapons, items, clothes, etc) can only be obtained if the item isn’t already in your inventory. E.g. you cannot get two Soldier Hat+’s. But after you turn your first Soldier Hat+ into the Wheeling Hat+ at Yui, you can then obtain a new Soldier Hat+.

If you’re looking for a particular reward item, after killing the boss you can reload your auto-save, to kill the boss again, and try for a different reward item.

Farming tips and Takeaways

Before venturing to Amagaeshi shrine, players who wish to obtain drops from Black Shadow, Pheasant Feather from White Gale, and Boar Tusk from Purple Scourge cannot expect these unique drops from Amagaeshi’s boss equivalents in Amagaeshi if they want more than 2 per day (one from day kill and one night kill) from these bosses (which you’ll only do twice per day anyway), floors 55,60,155 and 160 could yield potentially more drops – Black Dear Leather and Pheasant Feather can even be obtained during normal mission completion in base game normal mode!). Black Dear Leather and Pheasant Feathers can also be obtained during final everyday mission in base game normal mode!

Secondly, good non-reward farming:

  • Levels 16-20, 116-120, 216-220 all have plenty of Deer for Antlers — you need them to awaken some gear
  • Levels 21-30, 121-130, 221-230 are great for Aqueous Droplet farming at night, a great addition to your fertilizer.

Finally, reward farming:

  • Flakes: Best obtained from floors 175 and 180, then 75 and 80, then 100, 200, and 300. The latter three require fewer restarts, but the boss is significantly more difficult with significantly more HP.
  • Crane Feather, Dragon Bone, Dragon Scale: Most likely from 255-295

Gear tips for farming enemies and raising your rice:

  • 1-Handed: (whatever is strongest you have — eventually Brand of the Ascendant+)
  • 2-Handed: Gold Rake+ — find it from floors 250-295
  • Garment: Enamel Hunter’s Garment+ — find it from floors 105-150
  • Hat: Conical Hat+ — find it from floors 105-150
  • Mask: Kamuhitsuki Mask — find it from beating floor 74 of Sakuna the Effluescent (Aphid Extermination minigame)
  • Spirit Boughs (6 slots) — Tycoon, Luck Boost+, Huntress, One-Handed Power Boost, Two-Handed Power Boost, Headgear Power Boost

Soul-Stealing Mask+ can make enemies drop 1.3x more items… but doubles incoming damage. A 1-handed weapon called Gold Iron+ increases garment buff rates by 20%; both options lose too much time due to dying quickly or failing to quickly kill enemies that the increase in enemy drop rates are not worth their weight in gold.

Recommended route for Rice Powerleveling

At night: Do floors 221-230 for Aqueous Droplets and possible Cloudy Crystals from bosses

During day: Do floors 171-180, then 71-80, for Cloudy Crystals or Flakes, as well as a ton of amber.

With extra time: Do floors 100, then 200… for Cloudy Crystals or Flakes.

Cloudy Crystals give +25 to each rice attribute, so they’re as good as Medicinal Bases for your rice. Flakes give +50, but Gusto Flakes give +200 stickiness in medicine. Never put Gusto Flakes in fertilizer!!

Other Farming Tips

  • Make sure you collect all available animals. By the endgame, your team should have five dogs, five cats, ducks and a cow. Acquire new animals by sending Kaimaru out into each gathering area (all 11) before immediately returning home after each visit.
  • Send Kaimaru out for Remedies, then split into 4 and send all 4 to the Caverns; your goal should be 1-2 Medicinal Bases per day rather than powders which only increases one stat compared to 25 for one of each kind of medicine in general.
  • Make a gathering set too, featuring Antler Thresher+, Tusk Pickaxe+, Enamel Hunter Garment+, Palm Hat+, and Kamuhitsuki Mask for Sakuna to use when collecting objects.

Credits / Revision History

All data was obtained from the game files themselves.

To check my work: Unzip “Sakuna of Rice and Ruin/dataWin/Common.arc”, then in “Common/Param/Game/Amagaeshi” you’ll find many files “Reward005.csvrw” for example. Open them with a hex editor and you’ll see Japanese names.

In “Common/Param/Item” you’ll find many files like “Enchant.csv” which contains Spirit Boughs, “Armor.csv” which is all garments hats and masks, and “Weapon.csv” with all 1H and 2H weapons. You can use these to translate the item codes into the English names.

Example usage for guide creation:

  • “Common/Param/Bg/Ka/Main_1A/GetItem.json” displays that this area in Fire region contains Stab Resist spirit bough.
  • Update the Wiki with exact attack and defense values of all enemies, using “Common/Param/Skill/Attack.csv”, to show their damage types and multipliers for every skill.
  • Furthermore, each Spirit Bough, Weapon, and Armor has a cost and level upgrade status that needs to be upgraded; more details will follow later…
