This mod doesn’t belong to me, it is the work of silent, a programmer and modder who has worked in many projects and made many patches and hotfixes for other games. Check his work out, he’s amazing.
The Patch
Until QLOC releases an update to correct the port, this patch by Silent is the best option we have to improve the game.
Featured fixes:
- CPU usage has been significantly cut down.
- A low level keyboard hook potentially causing issues with slow typing speed has been removed.
- Worked around a crash occurring occasionally after finishing battles with a Heat Action. fixed in an official patch.
- Fixed a potential random startup crash.
- Fixed several issues related to non-ASCII user names, most notably a freeze when using Print Circle photo booths in Yakuza 5.
Be aware that it might slow your loading times, it is an expected side effect from altering CPU usage.
This patch only works for the steam version of the game.
Download/Installation
You can download the SilentPatch here:
https://cookieplmonster.github.io/mods/yakuza-3/#silentpatch
To install it, you first need to extract the donwloaded file, you can use windows’ built in tools, winrar or 7zip (I myself use 7zip).
You should now have these files:
Next, you’ll have to open yakuza 5’s game directory. It can be found by right-clicking on the game entry on steam, selecting “manage” and then click on “browse local files”
Finally, move the files from the SilentPatch to the main game folder.
Congrats

I’ll be updating this guide as Silent updates the fix.
