I have been playing Valheim for a little bit now. These are notes and things I have experienced since playing.

 
 

Things I wish I Knew

 
1. Enclose rock in house to level up skills 
2. Save any berries collected and cook meat for food 
3. Find bee nests and make hives immediately 
4. Find the trader for fishing pole (expensive, but good at getting food 
5. Oceans are not safe due to serpents, plains are deadly due to LOX and DeathBUGs 
6. Mountains is the worst place. Wolves just attack for no reason and make no noise. 
 
 

Initial Items to Look for

 
Honey – Abandon Buildings, destroying a Nest could provide a queen bee to make Bee Hives 
Blueberries – Black Forest, scattered through out : used for Jam 
Raspberries – Meadows/Wooded Area, scattered through out : used for Jam 
Carrots – Black Forest, White Flower used in soups 
Turnips – Swamps, Yellow Flower used in soups 
Neck Tails – Meadows/Rivers, Used for food and Poison Potion 
Thistle – Black Forest/Swamp, Used in sausages, Poison and Frost Potions 
Tin – Near water edge, Needed for Bronze 
Copper – Black Forest, Needed for Bronze 
Surtling Cores – Burial Crypts/Surtling fires in swamps, Used for portals and forges 
Mushrooms – Black Forest, Carrot soup (spawns in same location) 
 
 

Things Needed to Summon Bosses

 
1. Deer Heads – Meadow Boss 
2. Ancient Seeds – Black Forest Boss 
3. Witherbone – Swamp Boss 
4. Dragon Eggs – Mountain Boss 
5. Fuling Totems – Plains Boss 
 
 

Wood Types and Location

 
Meadow: 
Beech – wood 
Birch – fine wood (bronze or better) 
Oak – Fine wood (bronze or better) 
Black Forest: 
Fir – wood 
Pine – Core wood (stone or better) 
Swamp: 
Fir – wood 
Ancient Tree – ancient bark (stone or better) 
Mountains: 
Fir – wood
