GUIDE for modifying your saves from deltarune/undertale. manly bc they used the same algorythm.

A BIT OF INFO BEFORE YOU START

YES, i made this by myself checking countless hours to figured out what code does what.

i only ask that you Like the guide or even give me some steam points.

without further ado lets get into the guide and teach you dummies how to modify your saves.

How to Find the Files

Step 1.

Go to your AppData folder located within your username file usually found under desktop like so:
Step 2.

Open the Local Folder and search for the file name

(im using Deltarune bc i have it installed, Undertale will also be here if its installed.)
Step 3.

Depending on the game, this is where the guide splits:

DELTARUNE

you wanna pick one of these files to modify:

NOTE:

filech1_0 = Chapter 1

filech2_0 = Chapter 2

filech3_0 = Chapter 3

filech4_0 = Chapter 4

filech5_0 = Chapter 5

UNDERTALE

TBA: by my speculation its probably the same..

How to Actually Modify

Now that you know where they are time to modify those files.

The main process that is needed to be followed is below:

Quick Word of Warning: MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE MADE A BACKUP AS THIS CAN WRECK YOUR SAVES IF YOU ALREADY HAVE SAVES, AND NOT WANT TO MODIFY THE GAME FILES FOR FREE STUFF THEN PLEASE JUST LIKE THE GUIDE AND CONTINUE YOUR QUEST.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DELTARUNE FILES FOR CHAPTER 2 ARE NOT THE SAME DUE TO THE GAME GETTING A NEW ENGINE. PLEASE READ THE CHAPTER 2 UPDATE PART OF THIS GUIDE WHEN IT COMES OUT FOR MORE HELP IN MODIFYING THOSE.

choose either

CHAPTER 1:

filech1_0 (save 1)

filech1_3 (save 2)

filech1_9 (save 3)

CHAPTER 2:

filech2_0 (save 1)

filech2_3 (save 2?)

filech2_9 (save 3?)

Then you can change some values at these lines

if you use notepad++ this shouldn’t be a problem, but just a tip for those who use normal word pad or notepad, use the go-to command under edit, this saves you tons of time.

Kris

Kris health and max health: line 71 and 72

Kris attack: line 73

Susie

Susie health and max health: line 125 and 126

Susie attack: line 127

Ralsei

Ralsei health and max health: line 179 and 180

Ralsei attack: line 181

Chapter 1 Item List

Item codes for chapter 1 are below:

Around line 230 (It can vary) you will see three lines in a row with a value of 100. This indicates the beginning of the inventory section of the save, which will continue until two lines with a value of 999 mark the end of inventory.

Starting from the value directly after the last 100, there is a repeating pattern that represents what item type the value corresponds to.

Sometimes there may also be empty lines in the inventory section. I don’t understand why they appear, but just ignore them because they don’t affect the pattern. Deleting the empty lines will mess up your save, so don’t do that either.
