Rollback to the previous version of the game.

1 – Start your steam desktop application.

2. Go to Steam -> Settings Account, Beta Participation, Change. Select “Steam beta update” and click OK.

3 – Update and restart your Steam app.

Click on the Steam Library tab.

5 – Right-click on Total War NAPOLEON: Definitive Edition -> Betas -> Propeties -> BetasClick on the only option that is available there(mac version). Don’t be afraid of the title, it’s works on Windows. Then, wait until your game is finished up(down)grading.

You will be able to play only with players who have the same patch version. I’m not sure what the performance of this version is; however, at the very least, the chat in-game is working.

If you roll back to install mods that don’t work, I strongly advise you to wipe the NTW folder and reinstall it from scratch before attempting to install any mods.

This should be the most straightforward method to fix the issue for now. Please let me know in the comments below if this worked for you guys and what the performance results are. I have a backup of the entire game before the latest patch to be prepared in the event of. I am also able to provide it to you if you encounter any issues with the game.

Update: It appears it is not necessary to switch to Steam Beta Update (steps 1 to 3). However, I will leave these steps in place in case anything happens in the future. Please share this guide with others so that the community can enjoy multiplayer battles again.
