In this guide I will teach you about a very helpful mod that helps you grind random loot and gear for you character.

How To Get OP Weapons On Your Character Easily (Kinda)

So basically there’s a mod on tModLoader that allows for basically any weapon, block, consumable, item, spawn, etc to drop from ANY mod ingame. So, yes, you can get endgame weaponry from a slime. These weapons can be added to your character and carried to other worlds (if wanted)

Here’s how.

1. Get the mod called “Terraria Randomized Mod”

2. Use an already existing world (or not) and enable the mod.

3. In the mod configuration page in settings, go to the randomized mod’s configuration page. Once there, head to “NPC Loot Randomization” and turn on the first notch allowing all creatures to drop random loot.

4. Now, basically anything you kill will drop anything. This includes items from already enabled mods, and items hidden in the Terraria code. You’re going to end up with a lot of stuff you don’t want, probably, so it might be smart to get another mod for better inventory space. I got a LOT of furniture.

Tactics

Now that you have the mod equipped, any NPC, entity, or mob will drop a random item upon death along with their previous, normal drops. Now, what’s the best way to farm random loot? I thought that too, and here’s some solutions.

1. Kill Multiple Entity Mobs

In vanilla Terraria, there’s actually quite a few multiple entitiy mobs. These mobs are usually made of 2-3 smaller mobs or have something making them having multiple hitboxes. Some examples are:

  • Mother Slimes
  • Bone Serpents
  • Devourers
  • Clingers
  • Dune Splicers

Some bosses also have this ability such as The Destroyer, The Eater of Worlds, and both King and Queen Slime since they spawn multiple slime minions

2. Kill Mobs That Use Entities

That sounds confusing. Basically it’s any mob that fires a projectile that is considered an enemy. Destroying the projectile should drop something. Some examples are:

Fire Imps

Dark Casters

Hoplites (the javelins are hard to hit)

Hornets

Demons

3. Mob Grinder

This one’s pretty obvious. Just make your average mob grinder somewhere and watch how much random loot you can obtain. This mod also allows you to change the stats of given weapons, which can allow for some overpowered gear. I once had a Emerald Staff that dealth 416 damage. Keep that in mind when grinding mobs.

4. Boss Grinding

Some bosses can spawn minions to fight you or have multiple hitboxes. If an entity has a hitbox, it should (don’t take my word on it) drop something. For example, all of the segments of the Eater of Worlds have seperate drops, but when you finally defeat the Eater of Worlds, it has its normal drops too. Same with The Destroyer. This can make for some interesting battles and looting the bosses for their insane amounts of loot. Also, King Slime and Queen Slime’s minions drop loot, which can be farmed.

End

So now that you have (hopefully) all this overpowered loot on your character, you can take said loot with you to any world you please! No, it’s not cheating. It’s just a little helpful boost for your so very hard Mastermode Calamity run that you’re probably doing. Trust me, it’s fine.

This mod is not made by me, but rather NuovaPrime and Fargowilta. Go check them out, as I don’t know if they have made any other mods.

I hope you enjoyed this guide and I hope it was helpful.
