Gives you some ideas what to do in The Witcher 3 after beating the game.
This guide is for players who don’t know what else to do in the game. You may use it as checklist or as inspiration on what to do after you completed the game. Some things may be kind of obvious, while others are more special. But all will grant you an excellent excuse to play that brilliant game for longer.
This guide contains spoilers (obviously), as I assume you played at least the main quest of the base game as well as the 2 DLCs. (If you didn’t why are you here? Did you read the title of this guide at all?)
Super obvious, but you would wonder how many quest you missed, even If you did every quest you stumbled upon.
Many quest are picked up by finding them at a notice board in a settlement, so make sure you haven’t missed any of those.
White orchard 1
Velen & Novigrad 18 + 1 for Hearts of stone
Kaer morhen 0
Quest get marked with a ! on the map once you get near them, while some quests are unmarked, witch means the don’t show in the quest log.
And finally some quests are easy to miss because they fail if not completed in a specific time window or if you don’t act as you initially find it.
Another way is to look up the quest list on the wiki – [fandom.com] and look for quest you are not familiar with.
Some secondary quests give you informative or funny content, that you would have missed otherwise, so look out for them!
Explore the maps
Every new notice board you interact with, will mark new undiscovered locations on your map. Once you found all boards, you can discover all locations and your maps should look like above. Look how many notice boards there are in the quests section of this guide.
A round of Gwent?
Gerald … Gerald, … of course I play!
If you play Gwent, while you are at it, you can just as well collect all the cards.
This includes Collect ‘Em All – [fandom.com] , but the DLC cards as well.
Here a guide where to find the cards

Collect all witcher gear
Not to much?
There are multiple witcher sets in the game. Usually you only craft one and continue upgrading it to max. But why not collect all of them?
You will have to do all witcher gear treasure hunts as well as crafting all gear and gathering/buying the materials for them. This can become pretty costly, so do it late-game when you can afford it. But once done you have armor for every occasion and play style you could want.
If you are a trophy hunter you might already have quite a few achievements, but there is no way you could get all in a blind playthrough. So use NEW GAME+ to get the missing achievements.
I personally used this guide to get all achievements and the last one I got was Even Odds

– What mod is that? – It’s no mod
Some unique items are well known, while others you might not even know existed. So why not start a collection of those, now that you have all gwent cards.
NEW GAME +
Here we go again, again
NEW GAME + is one of the free DLC’s for the game, that basically allows you to reset the map and the story progress and play the game all over again, while you keep most what you had before.
No idea what to spent the skill points on
I initially thought that there was no level limit till i hit level 100 in my NEW GAME + playthrough. It’s not as overpowered as it sounds because you can’t have more active abilities from a certain point forward. But it surely is noteworthy.
Don’t drink all at once!
Craft all the oils, potions and bombs, they will help you a lot.. And in addition, you keep them in
NEW GAME + , so you don’t have to craft them twice.
If you are missing some formulae, explore, as you will randomly find them in containers. Note, that you must have completed the main quest, or at least progressed far in it to be able to find all formulae.
What could have happened if …
In your next playthrough, choose differently. Maybe choose other dialogue options, or choose different in Quests, and look where it leads. NEW GAME + is optimal for this.
Find Easter Eggs
Reverences to game of thrones and Shakespeare
Easter egg are all over the game. There are many quest with reverences quotes, or some other kind of easter egg throughout the game. How many have you noticed? The game is massive and there sure are some easter eggs witch have not yet been discovered even after many years. – [gamerant.com]
You can find a list of some easter eggs found so far on the wiki – [fandom.com]
Read the books
The Witcher books
The books give a much more in detail view on the backstory of Gerald and his friends than it could give in the games.
A far as I know, there are no plans for a (or multiple?) film version(s) – [screenrant.com] of the books.
Other Witcher games
Titelscreen of the second game
The First and the Second Witcher Games like the Books provide a Background to the action of the Third Game, and in addition to that they are, at least for me, enjoyable as well.
“Break” the game
Unlike another Project Red Game, Witcher 3 is not that easy to break. However it is is a nice thing to know.
What?… Ok, sure.
Modding can really alter your gaming experience even so that it feels like a completely different game.
