Things to keep in mind

Enemies:
 
 
Most enemies three times as much health, damage and 20% more knockback resistance than in Normal Mode.
 
 
Defence:
 
 
Defence is extremely vital in master mode as, unlike in normal mode or expert mode, all damage done to you as a player is directly affected by your defence. For example if an enemy did 10 damage to you but you had 9 (or more) defence you would only take 1 damage altogether.
 
High defence is key in master mode as you will definitely be taking large amounts of damage. I would recommend reforging all accessories to warding.
 
 
Money:
 
 
Keep your money in chests, piggy banks, void vaults, etc. In master mode you drop all your money on death. A money trough or void bag are very useful to have for portable money storage.

Relics

Arenas:

Arenas are helpful for all boss fights in master mode
 
 
Arenas are structures commonly made of platforms which are helpful for movement and evasion of enemies. These, combined with a hook – [fandom.com] , tabi or shield of cthulu, wings and rocket boots (or one of its upgrades) increase mobility by even more. Keep in mind that a nurse and dryad are useful to have near you during a boss fight as the former heals you in exchange for money while the latter gives you the dryad’s blessing buff. Lots of harder enemies and bosses need arenas for their specific needs for example:

Here is an example of an old one’s army arena which also acts as a multi-use arena for many other bosses and events. It has been decorated with relics.
 
 
 

Moonlord Strategy

I will list a specific strategy which I personally found extremely helpful. It is for the moonlord.
 
 
Moonlord:
 
 
This strategy works best for rangers but can be done with all classes. What you do is use the witch broom mount and completely destroy one of the moonlord’s eyes. This has to be one of thee ones on his hand. After the true eye of cthulu pops out you are now safe and can’t take damage. use the witches broom to be exactly on top of the teeth where the eye used to be. If you reach the end of your word or are about to hit an obstacle use a magic mirror to spawn back home. Make sure your spawn point is quite high up and has nothing blocking it so you can instantly fly back into the teeth of your chosen eye.
