The Almighty Tilde Key ().

The current version 1.01.1 has a hidden speed that is faster than “turbo”. This happens when you press and hold the key.

It will save you a lot of time waiting for the AI to take their actions.

Total: 19

3x Tanking (Cavalry): Lindly, Tristan, Isolde

2x Thievery: Stefan and Diana

4x Cannons: Lysander (Lt. Archibald), Warlord Tatar and General Ragavi

5x Dragon (Flying), Beatrix, Abigayle Sybil, Emma, Brom

3x Horse Archer Squads: Jules, General Bizen, Otto

2x Cavalry: Jaromir and Sir Rolante

These are the generic “templates squads” I used during my campaign.

Tanking Squadron

The squads should have the lowest threat rating. This means that you should stick with low threat artifacts to increase survivability (I use Officer’s Regalia and Donar’s Treatise of War, as well as Donari armor).

The basic combination consists of 3 front-line tanks with 2 healers.

An infantry version will have a frontline consisting of 3x Sentinels and Paladins (who have guardian), and 2x Priestess/Exemplars to healers.

You will have 2 hospitallers and a front-line Valkyries for a cavalry version.

The remaining 5 units can be left up to you.

A rear line of valkyries/paladins or centurions/champions is a good idea if you are concerned about assassins. Their armor will make any damage they do insignificant.

Magic damage can be greatly reduced by giving warrior’s hubris units or using valkyries/paladins.

Thievery Squadron

High-skill units with a frontline that includes Valkyries for some healing.

Horse archer teams:

Recommended: 5 horsebows/raiders, 4 archers/warbows. It will be able to move 7 tiles and retreat after attacking.

Full warbow squadrons are not recommended because cannons serve that role and do far more damage (one shotting all but the frontline enemies).

Cannon Squadron:

Early game: 4 cannons equipped with Giant’s Thiesher (+25% damage against larger units). This squad is vulnerable to being attacked, but proper positioning can help keep it safe.

End-game: 5 cannons and 3 paladins, and 1 priestess. A cannon squad capable of tanking hits, and with healing. As a result, positioning is less important.

Flyer Squad

Maximum AoE output with three dragons on the frontline. A fire mage is available for additional AoE and 2 healers are needed for survival.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Squad Templates (Example Images to be added later) - D8A1084

Cavalry Squadron

3 valkyries/knights at the frontline, 2 hospitallers and 3 fire wizards and 1 (anything).

This squad will have enough healing to keep healthy and will have cavalry mobility to smash any obstacle it encounters. These squads will be able to attack and retreat, which will keep them from being targeted by AI.

Types of Squad Movement

Directly from the in-game “Tutorial and Info” section

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Squad Movement Type - 71BB307

Here are some interesting examples of squads:

1. Light cavalry mobility will be granted to a unit with 5 horsebows or 3 archers. A unit with 5 Cavalry, 4 infantry, and 5 Cavalry will also have cavalry movement. This can be useful in certain squads where Tier 3 Templars are more worth it than Tier 2 Hospitallers!

2. Horses and dragons are not compatible. If they are in a group, it will be infantry class (5 cavalry and 2 infantry), and dragon = infantry.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Squad Movement Type - D64D31E

3. Cannons can also instantly make an infantry or slow unit (depending on the techs).

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Squad Movement Type - 5085054

4. It will fly if the number of dragon riders is greater than the number of other types of units. If one of the other units are cavalry, it will be an infantry class. Dragons cannot make horses fly! ).

5. The number of light units vs heavy units is what defines “Light” classification. This Stefan squad is “Light cavalry”, because Stefan + Blademaster + 2 Raiders+ Hussar = 5 light units.

Unit Stats

Although unit stats start randomly, unit stat growth is determined by the unit’s class and modified by its affinity (more on affinity later).

For example, Archers, Swordsmen, Spearmen, etc. All growth STR at 0.4%, gaining 2 ST per 5 levels.

Here’s how each stat impacts you:

STR: Increases Physical Damage and Physical Resistance

MAG: Increases Healing / Magic Damage/Magic Resistance

SKL: Increases Crit Chance/ Dodge Chance/ Deflection/Status Effect Application

LDR: The squad leader is the only one who can use it. The maximum capacity of the squad is equal to the LDR.

Additional Notes

– Weapon value is generally combined with STR and MAG to determine damage output. There are some exceptions to this rule, which are listed below.

1) Gunpowder weapons, crossbows, and other firearms are not weapon values (but this value is very high).

2) Dragon damage is calculated by the sum of their STR- and MAG stats. I’m not sure if weapon value affects it, but I believe so.

Class Affinity

Affinity has two main effects:

1. Character stats are affected

2. Affects hit or crit chance depend on the weather conditions. Since weather is often unpredictable, it cannot be controlled.

The image below shows the effect of affinities. But what you really need to know is:

Earth: Front-line tanks (typically Sentinels and Valkyries) You should also note that Earth has –SKL and not just -SKL.

Water: MAG-based units. HP is also slightly increased

Dark: MAG and STR units, where HP does not matter. Very powerful with back-line Dragons.

Lightning: High Skill and ST units (primarily thievery units, but also swordmasters/assassins)

Fire: Physical DPS. It’s a generic term and is generally worse than Lightning or Dark.

Light: Squad Leaders. They are great to be placed in a squad to receive mentorship, and then form their own squad once LDR is high enough.

Affinity stat changes can be applied retroactively. If you switch from lightning to light affinity, your leadership stat will increase, but your STR and SKL will drop.

Maximizing Hit Points

Their starting class affects their unit hit points.

This is:

Fighters = Militia > Bowman

Example 1: Cannons

High HP gunpowder units can be made from fighters and militia.

Example 2: Samurai

High HP Samurai should be made starting:

Fighters > Spearmen> Samurai instead of Bowmen> Archer or Horsebow > Samurai

Note: To classify these Water Affinity Samurais I had to use “Roast beefs strength” to raise their ST to 45+. Fire Affinity is the best affinity, as it doesn’t lose any HP (unlike Lightning). Dark affinity is worth mentioning in that it provides +STR, so you could have your samurai faster but with -HP.

Earning Gold

There are four main ways to earn gold in SoW. These methods will allow you to purchase all the mercenaries or artifacts that you find in the bazaars or markets.

1. The thievery squad

Your initiator in combat should be the thievery team.

Gold is earned based on the skill and damage that these units do. The more units that are skilled in thievery, you will earn more gold.

The best units to commit thievery to

Swordmaster, Scouts/Hussars and Horsebow/Raider. Lightning Wizards.

They should all be lightning-class for maximum SKL (aka. maximum profit!)

Thievery can be a boon to important characters:

Rakusha and Beatrix, Narima and General Ragavi

Named Mercenaries who are good at thievery:

– Konrad The Cold (Arcane speed grants SKL based on MAG. Lightning Affinity can be used to increase SKL and reduce MAG.

– Teriq, the Wicked (Lightning Asffinity results in high growth of SKL). 70 SKL at the end of the campaign

The following thievery squad (Chapter 8) could be used as an early-game thievery squad, with 3 thieves in mid-line.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Earning Gold! - 9FF8F57

This is how a late-game thievery team would look (only 2 Valkyries have it).

2. Surrenders

Every enemy unit that surrenders at the end of battle will be awarded 1 tech point and a large amount gold.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Earning Gold! - F53055D

You must destroy/destroy enemy morale to make a surrender successful. If they have “Shattered”, there is a 100% chance of a successful surrender.

A good tactic is to:

1. To lower their morale, attack with a group.

2. A 2nd party (preferably with a leader with Silver Tongue and/or Treasure Hunter) can perform a “surrender assault”

For a quick example, see:

https://youtu.be/dqaVEa1kVPw – [youtu.be]

Final tip:
You should have a large number of melee units equipped with the overpower trait (Deals Morale Damage based on ST). This will ensure maximum surrenders. The melee units will usually target the same enemy, decreasing the number of enemies killed and making it easier to surrender more people.

3. Treasure Hunter

This perk is only available to leaders (not regular squad members). You are more likely to receive items if your unit surrenders (or the enemy army kills). These items can be artifacts or very profitable Arena tokens.

4. Arena Fights

Every arena fight grants gold, XP Codex and CP Codex as well as some random items.

So, make sure to buy tokens at the market when you see them! They can also be dropped as a reward item during combat.

Here are some examples of rewards from each of these 4 arenas

Costs per Unit

Note: The squad leader’s capacity doesn’t change from 10. A “knight captain” leader of cavalry class will still be able to have 10 caps, instead of 8. The same applies to squad leaders. Even if they are loyal, their capacity will still be 10 caps.

Cost remains 10. Below is an image showing Warlord Tatar who, despite being loyal, has 10 capacities.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Unit Capacity Costs - BAE8398

Squad Members

These factors affect squad members’ capacity costs.

1. Leader perks, like “Knight captain”, “Archer captain”, etc.

2. The “loyalty status of the squad member”

Mercenary = 12 caps

Non-committal = 11 cap

Normal = 10 cap

Committed = 9 cap

Loyalty = 8 caps

3. The number of units in your squad.

1st-5th unit: No extra cap cost

6th unit: +2 Cap

7th unit: +4 Cap

8th unit: +6 Cap

9th unit: +8 Cap

For a 9-unit squad, it is
100% loyal
You will need 94 LDR to get 0 artifacts and cap reductions.

Leader & 4 members: 10 + 8*4 = 42

6th: 40 + 8+2 = 52

7th: 50 + 8 +4 = 64

8th: 62 + 8 + 6 = 78

9th: 76 + 8 + 8 = 94

This is why having characters that are knight/archer/infantry captains, artifacts that reduce capacity, and mentorship to boost LDR on squad members are all so useful.

Increasing unit capacity (aka. Loyalty and LDR stat

Understanding Leadership gains is possible by understanding several key points.

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga - Full Gameplay for Beginners - Increasing unit capacity (aka. LDR stat) and Loyalty. - 2119A96

The above-mentioned leadership gain was achieved when I You stayed within the time limits for each battle Simply by clearing 5 Gaiden missions and many arena battles, you can earn this level.

– Leadership is like a “Hidden LDR XP” bar.

– Combat and captures increase LDR XP

– Mentorship: A squad leader will provide LDRXP to all units within his party until they reach [The Leader’s LDR-10]. Only combat is eligible for mentorship.

– The unit receives +1 LDR when a LDRXP bar is full. Dark affinity has a lower LDR XP bar while Light affinity has one.

Loyalty, which affects unit cost cost, functions exactly the same way except that there are only five states: Mercenary (uncommitted), Neutral, Committed and Loyal.

The best way to increase leadership and loyalty is:

1. Set up a unit in the bronze arena with the lowest threat rating to ensure that it is the target for attacks.

2. Do not attack the 2 archers on your map. They will attack you at every turn (note that more attackers equals more XP).

3. You can farm this if you want to grind.

You can also (indirectly), increase your leadership by equipping 5 artifacts

Elegant blade, Sergeant’s Uniform, Imperial Battle Armor and Imperial War Banner, as well as Ataraxia

Important:
1. Lindly (the MC), always gets some captureXP when allies do captures. He/she should therefore not perform any captures. Without it, the MC will have enough LDR!

2. Jules, Jules, and Stefan are the best units for performing captures.

Bazaars

Always verify them.

Although they are almost identical to the markets, you have a greater chance of finding rare items and named merchants. You can also purchase Drakelings, which can be grown to become mighty dragons or dragon riders.

Note: A maximum of 15 dragon riders can be registered (11 from the bazaars + Nibbler and the mercenary Cloudrender Athelis or Azuros, as well as 1 “surprise” dragon rider).

There are 11 chapters that have bazaars.

3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 16, 19, 21, 24, 26

Selection of AI targets

When it comes to targeting, there are three simple rules that the AI follows.

1. The AI moves towards the nearest target.

2. If there is no way to get to the nearest target (e.g. If all your units are surrounded by enemy units, they will choose the “longer” route by wrapping around. If you want to get the
… How? – [steamcommunity.com]

Chapter 12 achievement. It is important to avoid being surrounded by enemies as they will march into your fort/castle and seize your fortress base. This will result in an instant loss.

3. AI will target the lowest threat value target if there are multiple targets within range.

Practical terms:

1. A squad of five priestesses/medics makes a great archer bait. It draws attention away from other units due to its low threat and ability to heal any damage done. Melee attacks are too dangerous for some priestesses/medics and can kill them.

2. The Noisy Cricket Artifact lowers a squad’s threat rating by 15%

3. Because some artifacts have a higher value than others, threat value can be altered.

Below are 4 screenshots of the same party with 4 different artifact configurations. The threat rating ranges from 15K to 19K to 23K to 33K.
