TSLRCM 1.86 + EE 2.5.1 Easy Manual Install

To install simply drag and drop the files in your Knights of the Old Republic II directory. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II) If you get asked to replace some files, press yes to all.

How to Install mods manually?

After you have downloaded the mod you wanted, open the .rar file with the latest version of www.win-rar.com – https://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0 or www.7-zip.org – https://www.7-zip.org/download.html and extract the files in a new folder on your desktop.

Once the files are extracted in a new folder you have to check what kind of mod it is. Each mod have an installation guide or a readme.txt provided by the mod Author in the mod description. Read it to make sure how to install the mod you just downloaded.

Most of the times it will be a simple copy/paste of the files you have downloaded in your override folder located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II

But sometimes, inside the downloaded folder you will see tslpatchdata and TSLPatcher.exe. And when you launch TSLPatcher.exe it can either launch normally or open and somehow nothing seems to appears in your screen even though you can see the TSLPatcher.exe running in your taskbar. So let’s start fixing this 😀

TSLPatcher.exe not displaying FIX + Installation

‏‏‎ ‎To fix TSLPatcher.exe not displaying on your screen you will have to –

• Hover over the TSLPatcher.exe icon in your taskbar.

• Click on it, and press the Left ALT key + Spacebar

• A new window should appear, looking similar to this –

• Now click “maximize” like in the picture.

• And you should see something similar to this –

(Of course what is written inside the text box will change if you have launched the .exe of a mod different than the one I’m using for this tutorial.)

• Now click on the “Install Mod” button

• Press the “Yes” button if you get asked “Ready to install?”

• If you see something similar to the picture below, congratz the mod was successfully installed 😀

• However if you see something similar to this picture below, the mod failed to install because it couldn’t find the game folder. But don’t worry, we’re also going to fix this problem! 😀

TSLPatcher.exe No valid game folder FIX

To fix TSLPatcher.exe No valid game folder you will have to –

• Create a Text file (.txt) in your Desktop

• Copy paste 64bit or 32bit lines inside the text file

64bit Version

32bit Version

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BioWare\SW\KOTOR] "Path"="X:\\YOUR_DIR\\HERE" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LucasArts\KotOR2] "Path"="X:\\YOUR_DIR\\HERE"

 

• Replace “X:\\YOUR_DIR\\HERE” with your game folder, here is an example for 64bit version

 Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BioWare\SW\KOTOR] "Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\swkotor" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LucasArts\KotOR2] "Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Knights of the Old Republic II"

 

• When it’s done save and close the text file

• Change the file extension of the text file from .TXT to .REG

• Your text file icon should change and become like the image below

• If all of this sounds very confusing, but you are 100% sure your Kotor II directory is located in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Knights of the Old Republic II –drive.google.com – https://drive.google.com/file/d/14E7zGnEuYPTp6ZR2uRtsGFGwAQ4428oY/view?usp=sharing If not, you will have to make your own, sorry

• Now double click on the .REG file and press Yes to all.

• Try the previous TSLPatcher.exe Instalation steps of this tutorial and see if it works now that you have a valid game directory.

• If you still get the same error when you try to install TSLPatcher.exe It means that you messed up the file path. You will have to change the file extension of the text file from .REG to .TXT and edit your mistake and then change the file extension of the text file from .TXT to .REG again and retry until it works
