A full list of achievements with some tips and tricks to get you them.
Introduction
So… you’ve found the game. You were scrolling through steam, sorted by lowest-highest price and you found snail racing, then you saw it had achievements. The achievements for this game are fairly simple and easy to follow, as a high percentage of the player-base has them, but if you wanted to truly sad the game out then you’re in the right place.
The achievements will be sorted into categories to define what sort of effort you have to make, but this game should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
How to play
So now you’ve reached the part of the guide that tells you how to play. The game is cripplingly difficult and punishing mostly down to its controls.
There are only 2 keys in this game, left and right. For keyboard, that is A and D, for controller it is the analogue stick (provided you’re using one that has an analogue stick, I can’t promise any compatibility with SNES controllers). Your aim is to avoid insects and boulders, eat lettuce, and get your bread up.
Score is calculated at the bottom of the screen and will be the criteria for most achievements in this game. When you pick up money it will grant you score equal to 101 multiplied by the value of the note. e.g. A “7” note would give you 707 points. You can use booster pads on the map to speed up drastically, increases your distance travelled, which is another statistic on your screen at all times. This is needed for 1 achievement that might need a few tries.
Fuel is the last statistic you need to keep an eye on. When this runs out, the game ends. You collect fuel by eating lettuce, which will also give you points.
After all this information, you will be able to enter the world of snail racing with confidence and determination.
Effort level: Opening your eyes in the morning
Editor’s note: The title implies that you have eyes and eyelids that are at least semi-functional. This is assumed as you’re using a visual guide.
woohoo! Games Working! (phew) Â Launch the game successfully |
As it says, literally just start the game. This is the hardest achievement in the game as it requires you to unlock will power before you’re able to. When you finally manage though, this one should be automatically awarded to you.
Starting the race  Start your first snail race |
Press play when you’re in the main menu. Not sure if this works for beach mode or not, but it doesn’t take very long to get.
Effort level: Getting out of bed
Editor’s note: This title assumes you have a bed or a place to sleep. For those who have a Ryzen CPU and sleep on top of that to keep themselves warm at night, this title does not apply to you.
Yummy Lettuce  Eat your first lettuce |
Simply start the race and collide with a lettuce or 4. This doesn’t take too much effort as one can spawn immediately.
Gaining a small score  Get 500 points |
Simply obtain 500 points. This can be done from eating a small amount of lettuce or collecting two “3” notes / five “1” notes.
Gaining a better score  Get 2500 points |
Obtain 2500 points. This might require a little more work, collect some notes and go for large lettuce patches. You should get this one quite easily.
Gaining an average score  Get 5000 points |
Surprisingly, you need to accumulate 5000 points with your snail friend. Just do what you did for the last achievement twice and you have it.
Effort level: Making breakfast
Editor’s note: Please eat your breakfast, most importantly meal of the day or something.
Bronze scorer  Get 10,000 points |
Similar to previous achievements this requires accumulating points, but this one is a little harder. It is highly likely that you’ll take a few tries to get to this point since the random elements of this game can make some scenarios a little hard to escape. You just need to get 10,000 points though. Eat your lettuce.
Silver scorer  Get 15,000 points |
Not a massive jump from the last achievement, just replicate your effort for the last achievement and get an extra 5,000 points.
Gold scorer  Get 20,000 points |
Probably the second-to-last achievement you’ll get as it does require a feel for the game. Try and collect all the “7” notes you can while eating larger patches of lettuce. This might take a few attempts but you might also get this along with the previous 2 achievements. Some skill required.
Effort level: Leaving the house
Editor’s note: For those who avoid leaving the house this may seem a little daunting. The alternate title for this guide is “Effort level: Tying a tie”.
Good Distance Travelled  Travel 100 meters. |
This is the only achievement that might be a little difficult to get. Getting to the 100 metre mark is fairly simple but I do believe your success with this is dependent on how things spawn for you. There were a lot of times I used a booster pad and ended my snail’s life early on a boulder. This will take a few attempts unless super lucky, but it’s not that bad. My record is 105 metres and I suck so you’ve always got that to keep in mind.
Conclusion
In conclusion, snails. Thanks for reading, I hope everything was simple enough to follow!
