This short humble Guide covers the most efficient way to get the 64 “Token” Achievements, and the fastest way to get the 8 “Level Up” Achievements.

Introduction

I bought this game 8 years ago, and never really thought all that much about it.
(Probably because I mistook it for a strategy game, when really it’s more of a farming simulator.)

Over the last few weeks I’ve been going over some of my old unfinished games and completing them, Skyward Collapse was one such game.

Part of the reason I’m creating a guide for this game is because of how incredibly easy it is to unlock 90% of the Achievements. The other reason is because only 4.1% of Players have the Level 2 Achievement, meaning only 4.1% were actually able to win a single match, yikes!

The game isn’t especially hard, you just have to remember that you’re not playing a strategy game where you’re trying to wipe out one side or the other. Rather you’re playing a farming simulator game where you’re sowing the seeds of conflict, and reaping a harvest of souls. It’s a balancing act from start to finish, where you can’t favour one side over the other.

That said, the Civic Buildings that are locked behind the Level requirements are incredibly useful, as are the Unit Conversion, and Building Repair powers. Unlocking those sooner rather than later is perhaps the best use of this Guide, rather than anything to do with Steam Achievements.

Token Achievements

There are 64 Token Achievements in total and you can unlock them all easily in one single sandbox game.

To do this, you will need to select the sandbox mode from the game modes selection.

Mythological tokens are simple enough to use, however you’ll need to summon all the Gods located under Mythological units to use all of their God Powers.

Keep in mind that some tokens will require the presence of certain units in order for the token to go off. Also a couple of the Gods have very destructive tokens, such as Thor who will nuke the closest enemy Town Centre, so you may wish to build another enemy town centre before using that power.

If a Token has a duration effect, then the Achievement will be unlocked at the end of that duration.

Leveling Achievements

For the Levelling Achievements I recommend playing using the following settings.

General Difficulty: Easy
Woe Frequency: Trivial
Score Requirement: Off
Map Type: Ganan Fields
Turns Per Round: 20

Then instead of placing buildings like normal, start placing mountains around your town centre, and lakes around those mountains. When the bandit fortress’ start to appear, place lakes around those.

Do be mindful of what woes you get, as some rare ones can mess up terraforming, so it helps to have some actions stored up if you anticipate that you’ll need to do some clean up.

However, most of the time it will be smooth sailing, as with scoring turned off all you have to do is survive 60 turns of essential doing nothing.

This no only gets you the Achievements, but also unlocks the super useful Civic Buildings.

Tips for the Last 8 Achievements

General Difficulty(2), Woe Frequency(3), and Score Requirement(3), the last 8 Achievements involve these, and sadly there is no shortcut into unlocking them outside of playing an actual game. I was able to unlock all 8 at the same time, but I only just won that game by the skin of my teeth, one more turn and red would’ve been wiped out, not that blue was in an especially good position either.

My best advice, unless you think that you’ve sufficiently grasped the game, is to set “Score Requirement: Off” then do an “General Difficulty: Expert” and “Woe Frequency: Insane” game set to 20 Turns Per Round, where the only goal is to survive. The Mountain+Lake combo from the “Leveling” section above is most useful here.

Then with the “Score Requirement: Insane” Achievement set those other 2 to “GD: Easy” and “WF: Trivial” but crank up the number of “Turns Per Round” to the max, which will increase your chances of meeting the Scoring requirement quota each age.
