Tell Ethel that Uncle Murray is your family.
Scout’s Honor
- Honorable options may be available in certain circumstances
Tell Ethel: Everyone who needs it deserves it.
Checkered Past (Melee)
- +1 damage to Melee Weapon Attacks
Tell Ethel that your goal is to run away from trouble. Then beat up a phone box.
Checkered Past (Ranged)
- +1 damage to ranged weapon attacks
Tell Ethel that your goal is to run away from trouble. She will also shoot a parking meter.
Checkered Past (Magic)
- +1 damage to magical weapon attacks
Tell Ethel that your are running away from trouble and that you’ve burned a mailbox.
Lost Soul
- In certain situations, you may have the option to seek help.
Tell Ethel you don’t know what it is you are looking for.
Voyage of Self-Discovery
- You receive EXP when you look in each of the mirrors for the first time
Tell Ethel that it is your desire to find yourself.
Haunted
- All Shadow Taint received gets doubled
Tell Ethel that it is your desire to find something dark.
Meat-Minded
- +20% on Meat Drops
Tell Ethel that money is your goal.
Ambition
- In certain situations, you may have the opportunity to pursue ambitious options
Tell Ethel that your goal is to make a name for yourself in the world of fame and fortune.
Acquisitive Nature
- +20% on Item drops
Tell Ethel that your goal is to find your fortune in stuff.
Guarded
- +1 Physical armor
Tell Ethel not to worry about her business.
Agent of Chaos
- In certain situations, you may have the option to choose from chaotic options
- Barnaby offers hints for no cost
Tell Ethel you flipped a penny. To get this response, you must consider other options at the very least seven times. You should not pick them from the top.
Chapter 1
Cryptobotanist
- You can make crafting materials from plants
- Your +5 ExP from harvesting perk also provides +3 HP Regeneration
After selecting your character cla*s during the first dream sequence, choose cryptobotanist.
Psychogeologist
- You can make crafting materials from rocks
- Your +5 ExP from harvesting perk also gives you +3 Physical Aror
After your first dream sequence, pick your character cla*s and you will be able to choose to become a psychologist.
Insectologist
- You can obtain crafting ingredients by using insects
- Your +5 EXP earned from harvesting perk also gives you +1 Maximum AAP
After selecting your character cla*s during the first dream sequence, choose to become an insectologist.
Advanced Handgunnery
- +1 damage to ranged weapon attacks
Find and read the Handgun’s Tale Book. It’s located inside the Prologue. Click the Bookcase several times. To receive the perk you’ll need five Mysticality.
News Hound
- You can learn new things by using the newspaper archive to earn extra XP

St. Polycarp’s Forehead
- +1 Muscle
Return the stolen item to the Vicar St. Polycarp’s Church.
Skeptical
- +1 Mysticality
You can get a reading of the tarot cards at Ocean City Boardwalk by paying 3 times.
Expert Sitter
- +1 Moxie
Marvin can bring the Snackle Cakes.
Weapon Repair Aware
- Weapon Durability can’t be unlocked. This is a joke. Weapons won’t break.
Find and read the Welding-& Wielding Book. It’s found in the bookcase located in the Tin Lizzies’ Chopshop shed.
Intermediate Jazz Theory
- Ranged Weapon Attacks take +1 damage
Read the book from the Ernst Zimmer’s House library bookcase.
Heard ‘Em All
- +X to Sleaze Armor upgradeable
You can buy the complete set of Surely Shocking Jokes (complete) from a wandering saleman in Ocean City for 200 meat. Each upgrade requires more EXP. This starts at 30 and goes up by 10.
Hobo Literacy
- You know some hobo symbols
Talk to Letters McCabe on the Hobo camp. Talking with hobos is a great way to increase your Hobo Literacy.
Chapter 2
Nostrildamus
- +X to Stench Armor upgradeable
You can find and read the Flora foetidae Book at the Old Junkyard. Each upgrade requires more EXP. This starts at 30 and goes up by 10.
Chapter 3
Bloode Lore
- +X to Maximum HP Upgradeable
The Encyclopaedium of Bloode is available at the Proctor Cellar of Village of Sandwich’s Past. Each upgrade requires more EXP. This starts at 30 and goes up by 10 every time. Technically you should be able grab it in chapter 2; the pa*sword is the identical every playthrough (FULKE). You can’t find it in-game until chapter 3.
Expert Fishery
- Fishing yields more meat
Talk to Walter, a Fisherman Hobo from the S.I.T. Bridge and ask for his fishing tips. Rufus’s first quest to reach the bridge must be completed. To find Rufus, you will need 9 Hobo Literacy.
Expert Panhandlery
- +25% on Meat Drops
Find and read Psychography of Panhandling. It’s located in the S.I.T. Library Stacks. You will need 6 Hobo Literacy.
I Choose To Not Be Cold
- +X to Hot Armor upgradeable
S.I.T. – Find and read the Short Stories of Long Winters. Barbecue Wings Freezer Room (accessible via Steam Tunnels). Each upgrade requires more EXP. It starts at 30 and goes up by 10.
Mutton Magnate
- Meat Drops +30%
Lift the curse from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla so you can read 101 Delicious Mutton recipes book.
Meaty Expertise
- +X% to Meat Drops
Read the 111 Delicious Mutton Recipes Book and destroy the Book’s Curse. Each upgrade requires more EXP. Upgrades start at 30 and increase by 10 each time.
Collision Dynamics Expert
- +1 damage to Melee Weapon Attacks
S.I.T. wandering salesman: Buy Advanced Collision Physics book and read it. Campus.
Cannon Canon
- +1 damage to ranged weapon attacks
S.I.T.’s wandering salesman will sell you the Advanced Projectile Physics book. You can also buy it and read it. Campus.
Seen Forces
- +1 damage to magical weapon attacks
S.I.T. salesman, buy the Advanced Magnetospheric Flux and read it. Campus.
Comprehensively Veined
- +3 Maximum HP
S.I.T.’s wandering salesman will sell you the Advanced Vascular Anatomy book. You can also buy it and read it. Campus.
Energized Brain
- You can also use one additional combat weapon per round
S.I.T.’s wandering salesman will sell you the Advanced Neurological Anatomy book. You can also buy it and read it. Campus.
The Shadow’s Vision
- +1 Mysticality
- +5 Damage to Magical Weapon Attacks
- -10 Maximum HP
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint of 3.
The Shadow’s Vision

- Only Shadow familiars will help you in combat
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint of 4.
The Shadow’s Protection
- +1 Muscle
- +5 Physical armor
- Maximum AP: -1
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint degree of 5.
Occlusion of Shadow
- Elemental armor challenges are much easier (requirements lowered).
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint of 3.
Suffusion of Shadow
- Stat challenges are much easier (requirements lowered).
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint of 4.
Collusion of Shadow
- You begin combat with three shadow beings on your side
Learn from Librum Umbra Malum Ovilla, with a Shadow Taint degree of 5.
Chapter 4
Pep Talk
- +1 Muscle
- +1 Mysticality
The first dream is to check the lockers. You will insist on opening the 7th one until you get a book. Talk to your childhood bully in the second dream. He’ll take your book away and give you your teeth. In the third dream, you will interact with the skulls. To get “No Tongue”, your teeth will be placed into your skull. In the fourth dream, place “No Tongue” in the statue with hip shades.
Talk to the Pep Talk (no Mysticality).
- +1 Muscle
- +1 Moxie
The same as the one with no Moxie but place the “No Tongue” in the smug-looking sculpture.
Talk to the Peps (no Muscle)
- +1 Mysticality
- +1 Moxie
The same as the no Moxie version, but place “No Tongue” in the scowling statue.
Bruise’s Mark
- -1 Muscle
- -1 Mysticality
- -1 Moxie
Pig Skinner exclusive. During your first visit to the Big Moist you will lose or surrender at General Bruise. It will be removed after defeating Bruise in Chapter 6.
Noel’s Dark Sigil
- -1 Muscle
- -1 Mysticality
- -1 Moxie
Cheese Wizard exclusive. Dark Noiol can be lost or surrendered during your first trip to the Big Moist. It will be removed once Noiol is defeated in Chapter 6.
Terrence’s Accounting
- -1 Muscle
- -1 Mysticality
- -1 Moxie
Jazz Agent exclusive. Terrence Poindexter will be destroyed or surrendered to you upon your first journey to the Big Moist. It will be removed if Terrence is defeated in Chapter 6.
Ziggurat Power
- Each round, you can use 3 additional items of combat
Repair and use the El Vibrato device in the Gatorman Fortress. You will need six Mysticality.
Swamp Geas
- -1 Muscle
- -1 Mysticality
- -1 Moxie
Accept the sword given to you by the Big Moist during the random wandering event. It can be removed at The Uncursing Machine.
Hunter’s Mark
- +2 damage to Melee Weapon Attacks
After completing their quest, take a moment to relax in the Leather Brothers’ sleeping bags.
Life Debt
- +2 damage to magical weapon attacks
Largeba*s & Sons will discover an abandoned amphibious truck in its search for the missing children. To make sure that it hasn’t been eaten, you should inspect the engine several times. Next, go to the Bus Stop and defeat Occams’ Gator. After winning the battle you will receive the engine. To receive the perk, place the engine in your truck.
Chapter 5
Swamp Geas Plus
- -2 Muscle
- -2 Mysticality
- -2 Moxie
You can refuse the Swamp Geas perk if the woman who gave your great auntie her sword while you’re on a random stroll in Gray County.
Nightmare Alloy
- +X to Spooky Armor, upgradeable
Find and read Scary Stories for Spooky Children at the Old Gilmore Place. Each upgrade requires more EXP. This starts at 30 and goes up by 10.
Coldridge’s Armor
- +X to Cold Armor upgradeable
Ovid at S.I.T., His Majesty’s least favorite poems book Campus (or Hobo Camp if he had to relocate there), then throw it down the H***hole for Posthumous Works of the Romance Poets. To get the perk, you must read the book. Each upgrade requires more EXP.
There’s Treasure Everywhere
- +X% to Item drop (upgradeable
You can find and read the Expensive Luxury, Inc. catalog. It’s located in the Black Gold Mine just past the group vampires. Each upgrade requires more EXP. This starts at 30 and goes up by 10.
Badly Misaligned Teeth
- -1 Moxie
Dr. Sarah, who is a dentist in The Maize Maze may perform her dental work only once.
No Teeth
- No actual effect (I think?)
Dr. Sarah, who is a dentist in The Maize Maze allows you to have her practice your dental work twice.
Perfect Teeth
- +1 Moxie
Dr. Sarah, who is a dentist in The Maize Maze allows you to have her practice three times on your teeth.
Fence Capitalist
- +50% on Meat Drops
Start the quest at Big Moist Treehouse to paint all 10 fences.
Finale
Hard Time
- +1 Muscle
- +3 damage to Melee Weapon Attacks
Charlestown State Pen. Bert (cell 1) a gift certificate from a prison Chiropractor.
Daydream Believer
