This guide is for you if you've ever thought, "man, I really feel the need to kill an eldritch Lovecraftian death god, but if only I could" I'll show you step-by-step how to kill that stinky, smelly tutorial boss!
 

Part 1. Part 1.

You will need the right gear to defeat this beast. If you are overweight, it will severely hinder your ability to fight. The best way to dodge their attacks is to roll behind them. This requires as much distance as possible, so don't wear any armor.
 
 
To actually kill the thing, you will need a weapon. I recommend a plus two midshipman's dagger or a plus two midshipman's dagger. However, it is not necessary. (as long as the weapon isn't too heavy), but I prefer the dagger again because of its speed and low weight.
 
 
You'll need to take extra precautions if you are not the best at dodge. The unspeakable deep deals around 100 hit damage per hit so you'll need somewhere between level 6 and level 9. A bandage ring is a must, even a small amount of wound can completely destroy your safety net. The festering banquet itself is quite small so you can find the ring yourself.
 
 
You'll also need to unlock the ladder shortcut. There's only one ladder that you can kick in the entire place, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find.
 
 
 

Part 2. Part 2.

Now that you have your weapon, and any other garbage, it's time to go for the ladder glitch. If you've played this game more than 2 seconds, you probably know it. If not, I'll show you how to do it.
 
 
First, you must remap your roll key and jump key to the same button. Next, climb onto the shortcut ladder in festering banquet. Then, start mashing the jump/roll buttons until you reach the interior of the ship. If you start to mash too slowly you'll fall off the "ladder".
 
 
 

Part 3. Part 3.

Once you're aboard the ship, you can continue as normal but you must rewire your jump/roll key back to their original settings.
 
 
If the deep is preparing an attack, you must roll behind him. If he gets too close to you, walk to the edge of arena until he returns to the middle. He won't attack you unless you are at a set distance.
 
 
If you are doing this at levels 1 to 3, (why) you will always be one-shot by the deep. You don't lose any money or salt for dying here. However, you will need to hit the roll/jump button once more and your controller/keyboard will just not take it:(
 
 
Keep rolling behind him and poking him in the back a few more times. Reposition if he moves too far away. etc.
 
Keep going and you'll eventually get rid of him
 
 
 

Part 4. Epilogue

After you have killed the UNSPEAKABLE DEEP, you will be rewarded with more than 7000 SALT, a Black Pearl, bragging rights, and a new achievement! (kinda)) And, in case you were curious, he doesn't respawn.
